Sunday 11/14, "Schooley's Mountain": A19, 76 miles
I'm leading another A19 ride this Sunday. It didn't make it into the ride listings on the new website, although it was approved last Friday. I'd copy the listing, but the new message board can't format paragraphs, so here are the main details. Meet at 7:50 a.m. at the NJ Transit departures board for the 8:11 train to Summit (arrives 9:06). Lunch is at Schooley's Mountain General Store, the oldest operating general store in New Jersey. I think we'll make the 3:49 back to the city (trains run every hour). A few miles of dirt roads. One big climb. If you'd like to do the ride, click the envelope next to my name… wait, never mind. Just e-mail me at msilver(at)iso(dot)com. If you're a human being and not a spambot, you should be able to figure it out.
Nyack - Relaxed Hills - Thursday 12.00 pm - Eleanor Roosevelt
See ride listing.
I need at least one confirmed participant by email or HERE by 9.00 pm Wednesday for me to turn up at Eleanor statue at 12.00 pm Thursday.
Weather looks good for Thursday afternoon.
(FYI, the one signed up on ride listing so far is not quite 100% confirmed so may not be enough).

Warren Miller Ski movie 11/20 @ Symphony Space; let's form a group
This year's Warren Miller ski movie is on Saturday 11/20 at Symphony Space, 95th St & B'way). Of the 2 showings that evening, I'm aiming for the 6PM (not the 9PM).
Would anyone like to participate in forming a group (at least 10 needed). We'll get reserved seating, and $18/person ticket price (versus $21 in advance or $24 at the door). Plus the promotion package includes 2 free tix vouchers (Gore, Jimminy Peak), a 1-year SKI magazine subscription, and raffle prizes. [Check promoter's website http://www.chestnutmtnproductions.com/warren_miller/warren_miller_nyc.htm ]

Where are all the Bergen/Rockland/Orange cues that are NOT Gunk or Catskill rides located?

...was cumbersome, but possible. Not anymore.
it's getting worse
It's all been said enough that the site is user un-friendly, hard to read, badly spaced, nesting sadly missing in threads, and slow (Jim, did you really say yesterday that it may take more money to resolve the problem of slowness? Shouldn't basic functionality be part of what we paid for already?) No need to add to that. However, yesterday, cumbersome though it may have been, I was able to access most posts. Today, many threads won't open at all - I get an error message, and more frustratingly, new posts within the threads seem to have only a # and no content. I have been unable to access any of these. Any idea what's going on?
500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.
That's all I get when I try to list a ride, look up my ride history, and several other areas. I understand the limits of volunteerism, but didn't we pay for this new site?
