Cyclists Coming Off The Manhattan Bridge

What's the issue with "cyclists coming off the Manhattan Bridge"?

The Knot on Thursday

Submitted by DRosenberg on Wed, 07/25/2012 - 9:21am

Please join me for the The Knot Ride tomorrow Thursday at 8 am leaving from Grant's Tomb.  Let me know if I should be there to meet you.  The weather is scattered thunderstorms 30% chance for tomorrow so it might be a little touch and go.  We'll have to see the weather in the morning, but I want to ride.  If the sky isn't dark, we'll ride.

The ride is about 5,000 feet of climbing between Manhattan and Nyack.  The ride includes River Road one-way, Clausland, Bradley, Tweed, South Mountain.  Since we rare not masochists, we'll head back on 9w rather than taking River Road.

My cell is 917-449-3000.

If you're bringing your bike on a train, please bring a bungie.

NJT specifically asks for it (though technically does not require it if you are willing to stand by your bike for the whole ride) and it gives conductors of all rail lines, the warm fuzzies.  And if they're happy, we're happy.

Color-coordinated and stylishly coiled around your seatpost, it weighs but a few ounces, yet engenders tons of cache.

Trust me on this.
