This may be an opportunity to raise the issue of why the police decided to forego NJ state traffic laws and write a bunch of tickets to unsuspecting cyclists making legal road maneuvers to cross an interstate boundary. 

I would certainly like to be present. Is anyone else able/willing to attend? 

The Wednesday Prospect Park Training ride is cancelled. I don't mind the rain, but thunder scares me.

Mindy had a bit of a fall on  her commuter bike.  Not too bad, hurt her elbow, just bad enough to need a sugeon to fix it up.  She'll be home late today.

Just wanted to share my latest post on my yoga studio's blog about roadie Doug Slack, who I met on Lon Haldeman/PACTOUR's Wisconsin Camp. 

He took up yoga at 60, three years later ... OMG (and that's with a bike accident, car accident and double knee ops in that 3 years!). When I first posted this I got a flood of emails from people saying they were marching down to their yoga studio immediately and booking themselves in. Anyway, enjoy the Houdini spectacle!

The owner John Marsh is a really super guy. No, I don't work for them (who me? a roadie?) but I read they really need new paid subscribers, in this tough new world where everyone wants everything for free (and we cyclists are the worst when it comes to that).  I've done a lot of work with the writers/coaches Ed Matheny and Jim Langley, both profoundly knowledgeable authorities in their field and former Bicycling Mag senior editors. For those who missed my post earlier. I was one of those who got ticketed a couple weeks ago when ft lee went on that ticketing blitz.  However, I was actually OFF my bike waiting for the light to change and the cop motioned for me to come over (someone else was standing there waiting for him to finish his ticket) and gave me 2 tickets. One for "standing too far into the street" and I cannot decipher what the other is for   In any case, while he was writing my ticket I told him I needed to sit in the shade (it was abt 90 degrees out and I had been riding all day). He told me no I couldn't. And I said , yes I can.  I said that I was overheated and needed to sit in the shade. To be spiteful he said"oh ok ur sick? I'll call an ambulance.

Hi there, I am relatively new to cycling and have started getting knee and wrist pain during and after riding. Can anyone recommend a bike fitting service in Manhattan or LIC?

I booked the last spot on RR's ride for this Saturday but have changed my plans, I will be out of town. My space is available I'm bummed I can't join it.
