Have Bottom Bracket Shell Specs Changed?

Submitted by PStorey on Thu, 07/12/2012 - 7:00pm

My friend just broke a chain stay. He'd like to recycle the 9-Spd Dura-Ace parts, but has been told that new model frames won't accept his bottom bracket. True? I thought the ISO and Italian cup sizes and threadings had continued unchanged into the era of external bearings, etc.  Anyone know?

Submitted by MTownsend on Thu, 07/12/2012 - 5:12pm

It looks the NYPD thinks that the last thing this city needs is random outbreaks of free bike repairs.

behind the perfect bike fit

My dad, who was visiting from overseas, had a tragic bicycle accident on Queensboro Bridge on June 23rd at 7.58PM. It was on a Queens side on a bike path that is shared with pedestrians. I was riding with him that fateful day but was behind him and didn't see the actual accident.
The police didn't arrive until we were already in the hospital.
Unfortunately, the fall was so tragic that my dad succumbed to his injuries on June 27th.
I'm still in shock and would like to have a closure of what exactly happened. I know there were 2 pedestrians (girls) who saw what happened and were the first ones to call the ambulance. I didn't have a chance to ask them what happened because we rushed to the hospital.
