Please find the note that I received earlier today from John Eustice, our November 2013 meeting's speaker, highly esteemed race commentator, Gran Fondo promoter and the captain of the first US team to race the Giro di Italia.

"Hi, hope all is well, Would you consider putting something out to your club about my Berkshire Cycling Classic (gran fondo) coming up on June 14?

All the best, John"

GWB bike paths - 5/28 statements to Port Authority

Submitted by NWeissman on Wed, 05/28/2014 - 7:55pm

"Consistent with your mandate as Port trustees to develop a 'strategic plan to enhance regional capacity and the quality of intercity travel', you must recognize the strides cycling has made over the past quarter-century.  You must go beyond tolerating cycling on the GWB. You must maximize it. Don’t constrain cycling with improvements that will only suffice for one generation.  Plan for, and build, a 21st-Century George."

Hardwired 2.0 star iJustine isn't afraid to break a sweat in the name of technology. In this episode, Justine indoor surfs, rides a bike (with an inflatable helmet! @1:49) and even hangs from aerial fabric and a trapeze to test out how the hottest new tech products are improving work outs everywhere. #AOLHardwired #gethardwired

NyackNewsAndViews - soliciting feedback

Submitted by NWeissman on Wed, 05/28/2014 - 4:08pm

People,

David Zornow, Editor-Publisher of NyackNewsAndViews (also a cyclist and a member of the Rockland Bike Club) is soliciting member feedback on:

•  How the new Tappan Zee Bridge path” for pedestrians and cyclists, planned for opening in 2018, might affect biking behavior.

•  Interactions with law enforcement and motorists in and near the Nyacks — and how that may compare to other destinations.

If you have opinions, please email me at soupstone-at-mindspring-dot-com.

I will aggregate and pass on.  Thanks.

Seeking someone to interview on camera about bike accident

Submitted by craig at cunytv on Wed, 05/28/2014 - 4:08pm

Hi there - I am with CUNY TV, the non-profit station of the CUNY school system.

I'm seeking someone to talk to on camera who's been involved in a car-bike accident who has been able to obtain medical care, legal assistance, and has other positive experiences with crash victim rights. I'm aware of the site out there called NYCCarAccident.net, so I'm looking for something along those lines.

Feel free to e-mail me at craig (at) cuny (dot) tv.

Thanks. And P.S., I'm a fellow cyclist too!

- Craig

Seeking someone to join me as navigator/helper as I drive around this Friday morn thru mid-afternoon in a cargo van picking up food and supplies for Saturday's Ride to Montauk.

In return, you get a "comp" to that ride or another of his rides this year or next ( http://www.nycbicycleshow.com/Bike_Shows/Home.html ).

Call me directly if interested.  347.306.5444.

West Point Registration

Submitted by Cyclegalnycc on Tue, 05/27/2014 - 3:03pm

Now that the Berkshires weekend has come and gone, it's time to think ahead...not that far ahead, actually!  The rooms are filling and we have a limited number this year, so first come, first served.  Please be aware that signing up and not continuing to Paypal to seal the registration with a payment does NOT guarantee you will have a room.  So what are you waiting for?  It will be another spectacular weekend of riding, swimming, eating, and mingling with others who have the same passion          (READ: obsession) with cycling!
