Ups And Downs: The Two Gorges Ride, a Finger Lakes Cycling Club Sunday outing, connects several glacier-carved waterfalls to create a 28-mile route through rolling countryside. The route climbs wooded backroads, visiting Treman State Park's 12 cascades, including its 115-foot-high centerpiece, Lucifer Falls.

Can anyone point me to a route or "Q" sheet for a route, I'd prefer a north shore route if anyone has one. Thanks

Gun and I are really excited for the last in our series of long summer rides. This one, true to its name, will involve a lot of climbing.

Because of the length of the ride, the climbs, and the heat, we are going to try to keep our rest stops brief so that we don't have to take a 10pm train home. For that reason, we recommend that people bring plenty of pocket food, as most of our stops will be to fill up on water and we are going to have just one longer stop, for lunch.

I'm taking my bike on a bus.  First, I'm putting it in a box that measures 53" x 30" x 8".

Uh, looks kinda long...is that going to fit in the trunk of the standard crown victoria taxi cab?

Note that even though the cue sheet starts the ride at the Central Park Boathouse, we'll be starting from Grant's Tomb at 122nd & Riverside at 8:45am. We have a good group so far, so I think we're in for a very lovely and scenic day.

Brooklyn Greenway Initiative presents its third annual Brooklyn Waterfront Epic Ride.

Unlike the previous post asking about a biking route to Boston, I'm wondering what is the best way to transport my bike from NYC to Boston (just for the weekend). Am I allowed to bring my bike on the amtrak train? what about buses? anyone has any experience with that? Thanks in advance
