Thank you all for your suggestions! I was able to get an appointment with Claudette Lajam. I only wish I had thought to post a message sooner. It would have saved me a lot of time and stress.

Does anyone know if bikes are allowed (either explicitly or because nobody cares) on northbound Metro North trains during morning peak hours?
I think the trains will be fairly empty leaving Grand Central at 8 am on a weekday, but since this is "peak" time, no bikes are allowed.
Anyone have any experience with the issue?
I was planning on using Dr. Su from the Hospital for Special Surgery, but neither Dr. Su or the hospital are "in network" under my insurance, and Dr. Marwin and NYU are "in network". So now I'm trying to decide whether it's worth the cost to use Dr. Su, who seems to be the Dr. that everyone I know is using, or whether Dr. Marwin would be just as good. With the savings I could buy myself a very nice new bike to celebrate my new hip.

As we do every week, we will head to riverroad and back either on 9W or riverroad. Paceline skills are a must. Alternative meet place - 6:15am at 120 and riverside, or 6:35am NJ side of the GW bridge.
Please RSVP with the place you will meet us. Cancels: precipitation, wet roads or high winds. Please check the message board for cancellations or last minutes changes.

A bunch of bicycle thieves rode away with 35 brand new Schwinns used for free lessons at Flushing Meadows Corona Park, officials said yesterday.
The bikes were swiped on July 5 -- the first day of the program run by Bike New York.
"It is horrible. They have deprived hundreds of kids of having the chance to learn how to ride and ride safely," said Ken Podziba, CEO of the nonprofit.
I taught myself to ride a bike a while ago and feel comfortable riding my old mountain bike, although, no to the level of riding with my hands off the handlebars for instance.
Recently I was given a beautiful, carbon fiber racing bike, but I'm having a great deal of difficulty to transition to it. I find the low-body position uncomfortable, the saddle too high and have difficulty with the position of the braking system. I got very nervous the few times I got on it.

I broke my collarbone in a bike accident last Thursday and since leaving the ER I have been unable to find an orthopaedics doctor who isn't on vacation. The idea of waiting 2 weeks for a doctor for this kind of injury seems absurd. Given that this is a common cycling injury, I thought I'd reach out to fellow NYCC members to see if anyone could make a recommendation. I'm really hoping to see a doctor this week, so any suggestions would be very appreciated. My email below. Thank you. Catie [email protected]
OK folks heres the thing. Currently I am riding a 1950 Raleigh Clubman with 4 in the hub. Don't laugh.. I have already clocked over 2000 miles this year.. While i love the vintage ride I am also aware that this kind of cycling may not be that friendly to my knees in the long run.. And the more I ride the stronger my legs have become and uphill the more noticeable the BB flexing.
