Bike rack ticketing for offense 74A improperly displayed plate
I have a Saris hitch mount racknon my car and have in the past month received 2 tickets for improperly displayed plate. Granted when you're directly behind the car the middle number of the license plate cannot be seen but from any other angle it it clearly displayed.
Can someone provide me with some insight into this, I see bike racks on cars all the time exactly and wonder why I'm suddenly receiving tickets after 3 years with this car and 16 years with other cars.
Help!!

BGDB+NYCC to the Rescue
Came across a cyclist down in Ozone Park—they had *just* collided with an SUV. Alie, the woman in the purple jersey, is a registered nurse and took charge till Police, Fire and EMS arrived. Neighbors came out with water and bags of ice. Gratified that the group arrived when it did. Wouldn’t want to be in that situation alone. From BGDB+NYCC Training Ride #3, Richmond Hill, 6/20/21. Wednesday C Ride
We've had to postpone our usual Tuesday ride to Wednesday, and there are plenty of openings on the ride. We'd welcome the company.
Being Prepared for Your Club Ride
PLEASE make sure that you have the proper tubes, tools and means to pump up your tire be able to fix you own flat. With all of the different tire widths and rim depths, it is less likely that someone else on the ride can help you. If you have tubeless, please bring a plug kit and tube just in case.
While we are on the subject, know the route via GPS or a cue sheet to be able to get home if needed. (E.G. get a flat with 80mm deep rims with wide tires without your own tube). Or if you don't have it that day and can't keep up and want to leave. If you saved the route to your RideWithGPS account, you can download it and have it on your phone as a last resort.
Thanks for reading.

Replace tubeless tire after applying plug?
NYCC Community & Tire experts,
While cycling 9W this Sunday, I punctured my front tubeless front tire due to a tack. Apparently, someone has been throwing tacks on 9W by Strictly Bicycles and causing a number of cyclists to flat. I heard from the bike store that this is not new and has been happening for years. Hope they catch the guy.
But my main question is whether I need to replace my tire (Pirelli P Zero TLR) after fixing the puncture with a plug (dynaplug)? The plug worked and held pressure and I was able to continue the rest of my ride. But is the tire considered compromised and should I replace it? Or can I continue riding it? If so, how long? Till it fails again (I would like to avoid this)?
Thanks, so much for your time.
Regards,
Mike

Developing A Virtual Strength Coach For Cyclists, Would Love Feedback
Hey follow NYCC members! Besides being an avid cyclist, I'm also an entrepreneur and am developing a virtual strength training coach for athletes like cyclists. It comes with a wearable that tracks the amount and quality of the workout, helps personalize it to you, and lets you share it on platforms like Strava.
Strange happenings on the GW this morning.
Returning today from an early ride at around 8AM I stopped at the east entry to the bike/shared path to reset the Garmin and noted a rider on a motor-scooter stopped and, in a discussion, with the PA Police. He was pointed to the east but did not proceed and remained in a lengthy dialogue until after I moved on. Meanwhile while waiting there another motor-scooter was WALKED past me headed east and on to the bridge. Yes, walked. when I caught up later it was still being walked nearly halfway across. Curious. Eventually I passed another motor-scooter on the downside of the span with the driver seated, legs out to each side, and COASTING the vehicle down the span.
