Heed, Skratch or Other
Okay, we all got plenty of salt and water on our bikes this past weekend, but what about into our bodies? I've been using Hammer Heed for years, but am intrigued by Skratch Labs reviews and Allen Lim's reputation.
What do you use and why?
Thanks!

There is a thing called a bicycle fender
But they were rare as hen's teeth this afternoon on the West Side Bike Path, what with the run off of snow melt.
However, I did see a lot of brown streaks up the center of backs of jerseys on bicycle riders.
Ancient wisdom: One fender will save numerous jerseys from indelible stain. And you can't wear the fender out.
Cyclist turnout needed in Riverdale on Wednesday night to support Hudson River Valley Greenway
Cyclist turnout needed in Riverdale, Wednesday night in support of the proposed Hudson River Valley Greenway to counter community opposition. [Sound familiar?]
WHEN: Wednesday 2/26, 7:00PM
WHERE: Riverdale YM/YWHA, 5625 Arlington Avenue
River Road conditions as of today or yesterday?
Anyone know how the surfacce of RR is these days?
Thanks in advance.
Crowds tomorrow?
How crowded do we think the greenway and the parks will be tomorrow? I haven't been on the road since superbowl weekend and haven't managed to do more than an hour at a time on the stationary bike since then, so I'm SUPER EAGER. I would join the "Quick and Early Ride to the Piermont," and I'll be up in time, but having slacked off so much lately, I'll be happy to do just three or four laps of the park... Just hope I get there before the crowds.
Breaking Away - a few $10 tickets to NYCC members
People,
The event is virtually sold out, but have purchased a half dozen Breaking Away at Film Forum, 7:30pm, Monday, 2/24 tickets available to NYCC-members on a first-come-first-serve-non-refundable basis for $10 per ticket (reg. $13.50).
Bear mountain/upper Rockland Co. conditions
Anyone been up to Bear or across the Bear Mtn bridge recently? I'm curious how bad the roads are. I know Perkins was technically "closed" but still passable by bike a few weeks ago, though we've had quite a lot of snow since then. How about Orchards/little tor/etc?

"(1979, Peter Yates) Great, we’ve graduated, so now what?, gripe Dennis Christopher, Dennis Quaid, Jackie Earle Haley, and Daniel Stern (in his debut), as they hang around an abandoned quarry — but then Christopher discovers Italian-accented bicycle racing, to the befuddlement of his ex-stonecutter dad Paul Dooley. Shot in Bloomington, Indiana and based on a true story by Oscar-winning scripter Steve Tesich. Approx. 101 min. DCP.
