If I have a certain gear combination, say 42-11, will a crank rotation with a 700c wheel take me farther than a (smaller) 26" wheel? At the same time, does it take more energy to turn the crank one rotation for the larger wheel? Put another way, is a larger wheel effectively a higher gear, smaller wheel, lower gear?

Hi fellow NYCCers,

I'm headed to Colorado in a week to take place in the Pablove Across America event, 400 miles with 30k ft of climbing to raise money for paediatric cancer research and quality of life initiatives for the children.

I am hoping to travel with my bike but do not own a bike box.  If I promise to look after it and return promptly, anyone prepared to lend me one?  Would Bick up next Thursday and drop back 9/4.

InTandem Bike is looking for marshals and riders for their annual Donut Ride on September 17, featured as one of America’s Favorite Donut Rides by Bicycling Magazine.  Anyone on two wheels can participate!  It’s a fun way to raise awareness and funds for the organization as all event profits go towards InTandem’s programming and bike maintenance. In 2021, over 125 riders participated, raising almost $10,000 and are looking to grow it again this year!
