If the number of rides you have lead is 12 or more, also send me your jersey size. I will be on vacation for a week, and will be giving Ellen a list of the jerseys to order before I leave.

Nautilus Stationary Bike for Sale

Submitted by dailybibliotaph on Wed, 03/16/2011 - 7:22pm

Hey guys. My wife and I have a barely used Nautilus stationary bike that we're putting up for sale since we're moving out of state. The model # is U514. It's listed at $599 but we bought it on Amazon for about $400. Less than a few months old. It comes with a Polar HR chest strap, has HR monitor pads on the handle bars and is super quiet during use. Here's a link to the Amazon site: http://www.amazon.com/Nautilus-U514-Upright-Exercise-Bike/dp/B00275R27K/...

We're asking $200 for it. Live in Manhattan. Send an email if you have questions. Thanks.

2 New Approaches to the Central Park Problem

Submitted by GKaplan on Wed, 03/16/2011 - 2:12pm

There may be two other approaches to solving the problems of cyclists use of the roadway in Central Park:

The roadway was a dirt carriage way until the 1930s. Robert Moses, then NYC Parks Commissioner paved the roadway and made it available for motor vehicle use. Knowing Moses' propensity for acting unilaterally, did he do this legally? Is it a legal roadway?

The Motor Vehicle Laws are State Laws. Perhaps the approach is to convince the State Legislature to amend the Motor Vehicle Laws to provide for "sensible" use by cyclists of all public parks in the state.

It is on the East Side of of 9W, just north of the blue NYCC Adopt-A-Hiway sign and just before the bike path into Tallman Park. (about 2 miles from Piermont)

The premises was once an "old time"gas station and resembles the subject of a (Nyack born and bred) Edward Hopper painting "Gas" (MoMA) The setting was used in at least one Woody Allen and one Alec Baldwin movie and is the theme of the restaurant, including a recently painted large mural in its interior. It has a small indoor dining area and spacious exterior for tables.

The proprietor is Piermont area resident and experienced restauranteur Stravos Galanis (Cinema Brasserie 45th & 5th Ave., etc.)

PARIS (AP)—The Leopard Trek team is denouncing reports that Swiss cyclist Fabian Cancellara is using a revolutionary system on his bike that gives him a substantial advantage over his rivals.

Following a report in La Derniere Heure newspaper, team manager Brian Nygaard told Cyclingnews.com on Wednesday that the technology known as Gold Race is not used by his team but added the time-trial world champion might have used it when racing with the Saxo Bank team.

“There’s a bit of confusion here,” Nygaard said. “I think they might have been attached when he was still working with (bike manufacturer) Specialized, but I can guarantee you 100 percent that we are not working with these people at all.”
