Has the NYPD been ticketing rollerbladers?
I haven't been to CP in quite a while since moving to Jersey, and because of the ticket blitz, I will probably stay away. I know rollerblading isn't as popular as it used to be (thank God), but are the cops chasing down rollerbladers for going through red lights? I mean, technically, EVERYBODY has to stop for a red light, correct? Runners should have to stop at red lights as well to let the pedestrian traffic go by, right?
Mapping Cue Sheets on Garmin Forerunner 305
Anyone using Garmin Forerunner 305 and knows how to map the cue sheet into the device as a route ?
Thanks
Riverside Dr.
Curious after the rains on Sunday and last night what Riverside Dr. is like on the way to the bridge?
Ultra-late ride listing: Sat., B-18/60 mi. The first ClimBathon of the year. Boathouse 9:45
I had to awaken my sleeping bicycle for this. It got pissed off at me. It yelled at me: "Can't you see I'm sleeping? Leave me alone! Hell, I was up until early November. Can't a bike get any rest around here?"
With an enormous show of discipline, I scrupulously adhered to my winter training schedule: I did nothing. NOTHING. So come knowing you'll have to await my v-e-r-y belated arrival atop the several climbs. I'm older than last year and last year I couldn't climb out of a pothole without blood doping.
Same, ol' challenging, gorgeous, and maybe best of all, lightly trafficked route. http://newyorkbike.com/river_road.html River Rd.>(Too early for Sneden's)>Bradley>Tweed>Tallman>Ike.
B SIG Groupings
Hello to all B SIG Riders.
The B SIG groups have been formed, and you'll be learning your specific group assignment very soon if you've not heard alreaady. It's been a busy week for those of us planning the B SIG. As it turns out, we're a little late in getting the word out to the B16 riders.
If you rode our qualification ride last week and still haven't learned your group placement, don't worry. It probably means that you are in a B16 group. I know that some of you want to get the cue sheet for the ride before the end of the work day. We will be emailing the cue out to all B16 riders shortly.

A chance meeting with my City Council member
I asked Jimmy Van Bramer if he reads the messages that come into his office (I hadn't received a response to my message below) and he said he did. He had read mine and we talked a bit about the situation. He told me that he supports bike lanes, seemed sympathetic about the situation in Central Park, and that he was one of the few City Council members who didn't have a problem with Sadik-Khan.
He also told me that he was probably the only member in Queens who was not opposed to bike lanes! So, if you live in Queens (or any of the other boroughs) please let your City Council member know how you feel. Here's a link to the list of Council members:
Turning Cue Sheets Into Garmin Routes?
I've got a Garmin bike computer, and I've noticed that many other NYCC riders have them as well. Is there a way to create a route that could be shared so we don't need to ride with cue sheets? I tried using Garmin's BaseCamp software but it's the least user-friendly thing I've ever seen.
Thanks in advance!
