barbecue and chocolate chip cookie ride

Submitted by crosscountrymule on Fri, 06/10/2011 - 10:02pm

stay tuned for a game on/off call, given saturday's iffy weather forecast.  i don't like riding in the rain.  and having bbq in the rain is no fun either.

if the game is on, don't forget to bring your bike lock.  madison square park will be crowded and i want to triple lock our bikes together.

After Sig Series - Chaste Skirt Ride - CANCELLED

Submitted by Lucia on Fri, 06/10/2011 - 5:13pm

We regretfully inform you that we will be cancelling the Chaste Skirt ride tomorrow.  It was a tough decision, but with 50-60% chance of showers and thundershowers, and given there are significant sections of hard pack and hilly country roads, we felt it prudent to save this ride for a nicer day.  We hope you understand.  We are just as bummed out as you are... but as a wise rider said, CT will always be there.  Hopefully we can do this ride again some other time.

The Parks Committee of Community Board 8 isn’t interested in  sharing.

I have followed Damian's courageous battle to return his bike and  for that matter any sense of normalcy. His cause has been championed on the NYVELOCITY Blog.

Heads up on new NJT train-bike policy -- Port Jervis, Hoboken, others

Submitted by NWeissman on Fri, 06/10/2011 - 10:45am

Note to all cyclists that Port Jervis is no longer a bail option or an end point.  Conductors ARE enforcing this.

"Cyclists and Segway users must board the train car at a door with an international symbol of accessibility. In almost all cases, accessible doors are those at the center of the car. Center doors do not open at stations with low-level platforms. For this reason, customers with bicycles are advised to board/alight from accessible stations only."
