Ride to Montauk Saturday - spot taken!

Submitted by LCohen on Fri, 06/17/2011 - 1:22pm

I am pre-registered for this ride, with tags so you wouldn't have to register, as well as return bus from Montauk to NYC. I broke my hand cycling in late April and am unable to do it. If you are interested, see www.RidetoMontauk.com. You will need to pick up the tags tonight, anytime after 6. Let me know: [email protected]

Harlem Race on Sunday

Submitted by mg on Fri, 06/17/2011 - 11:52am

If you're going to be in the city come check out the 38th Harlem Skyscraper Classic at Marcus Garvey Park.

This year's race should have some exciting racing and local restaurants Dinosaur and Red Rooster will be providing food and drink.

If you think your bike looks good, it does.

If you like the way your bike rides, it’s an awesome bike.

You don’t need to spend a million dollars to have a great bike, but if you do spend a million dollars and know what you want you’ll probably also have a great bike.

Yes, you can tour on your bike – whatever it is.

lunch on the beach

Its supposed to be a beautiful day tomorrow.  Consider joining our A20 ride to Pt. Lookout, 5 miles past Long Beach, for something different.  NOT a ride to Nyack.  We'll have lunch at the beach under a shaded gazebo.

SUNDAY 6/19, B17-18+/70, USTS #15 - LIE (no lie)

Submitted by NWeissman on Thu, 06/16/2011 - 8:23pm

START: Meet 8:55 AM in the east 60's

FINISH: 4:40-5:40-6:40PM at Ronkonkonkoma LIRR.

LEADERS: Michael Notaro - B18+, Neile Weissman - B17

WHAT: We break out into two groups for a straight shot of forty miles across the LIE service road.  Then northwest towards Stony Brook and south to Ronkonkoma.   One short rest stop early and then a longer break in Stony Brook.  And they do a nice eggplant calzone at the Ronkonkoma train station.

BACK STORY: Michael needs to be in Stony Brook by 1:30 for Father's day otherwise it's kibbles and bits for a week. So we need a cadre of strong riders pulling to get him out there on time.

TERRAIN: Flat for first forty miles.  Rolling thereafter.
