I was planning on a ride on Father's Day, but plans change.  Instead I'm scheduled to attend an event at a friend's place in Bedford.  So I was thinking I could ride there and get home by car.  Does anyone have a route to suggest or a cue sheet to Bedford area?  Thanks!

Looking for a second-hand road bike in good/great condition. 5'9" female - 54cm, but men's model may be fine. aluminum or steel frame. +/-$800, negotiable.

Anyone know of anyone selling a road bike (Felt F24, trek kdr 1000, specialized allez junior) for a 9 year old girl.  I want to intro my daughter to cycling this summer. Let me know if you have any ideas or leads.

Sunday, midday (ish). I was overtaken by a group of 3 NYVelocity riders on Riverside Drive. They blow through a couple of red lights, but given that the road is clear and no pedestrians are crossing, it’s probably safe.

Then they approach a red light at the junction with 135^th. There’s a father and son already crossing the road with the signal – and they’re plainly visible from waaay back down the road. The pack blows through the crossing without slowing down, nearly mowing down the child. The father has to grab his child and pull him back to prevent an accident.

I have to vent. I'm crossing the east park drive at Lincoln Road this afternoon with two small children, one of my own and another. We've got a walk signal. Three cyclists are approaching, two on the near side and one on the far side, nobody too fast, no one too close. There's a barricade across part of the drive so that cyclists have to go on either side of it. We're halfway across, with the one on the far side on his way through, perhaps 15 feet to our right. We're totally obvious, and we have the right of way. I figure he'll have plenty of time to get past. Suddenly my son darts forward a step or two--young children will occasionally do that, which is why we all try to hold hands, but it was a little complicated this time.

Does anyone ride up in Bedford regularly? If so, wondering if anyone here is familiar with the Contitie/Hook road intersection in Bedford, and how bad Contitie road was this month (potholes, etc.) Looks like it was recently repaved.
