Since I have burned out my dear club friends (and wonderful wife) at the front greeting and merchandise tables, at our monthly meetings, I now desperately need 4 energetic and upbeat volunteers to assist me with these very easy and fun jobs for our July 10th meeting and subsequent monthly meetings. This is the perfect time for those of you who know that you should help out and have been looking for a really easy and fun job to do , so that you can fulfill your (and our) need to help out your terrific club, that has given you so very much.

Looking for Straight Route NYC --> Hamptons

Submitted by andrewsmeltz1 on Mon, 06/25/2012 - 11:51am

I am hoping to ride out to the south fork later this week.  In the ride library I found the 146 mile GCT - Montauk cue sheet, but it seems to be somewhat of a scenic route with a lot of turns.

Does anyone know what the most direct, safe route out there is?  I don't mind major/high traffic roads as long as it is legal and the shoulders are sufficient.  Specific destination is Watermill.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

July 4th "B" ride from Brooklyn?

Submitted by aron on Mon, 06/25/2012 - 10:57am

As of today, there are no rides listed leaving from Brooklyn in 9:00am-10:00am range. Would anyone care to join an "unofficial" 40-50 mile (+/-) ride? (of course, should someone wish to lead this from a NYCC vantage point, I would gladly join!)

Route / distance is flexible, but I do have some ideas. If interested, please reply.

If and when are the evening closures for bike/ped access to Randall's Island on both the pedestrian bridge at 103rd St and the Triboro Bridges?

I'm considering having some custom jerseys made and am in need of recommendations. First for a reputable shop, the second for tips and pitfalls.

Many will remember Julian Pantoja from club rides--he was the Cat 5 winner of Saturday's Alpine Hill Climb. I believe he's 14 or 15. The time was 5:08!
