River Road...ah, the changing insects!
Gone (thank God!) are the cicadas, but in the middle of RR, there's a virtual parade of centipedes crossing the road to the west side. It's adorable! It's also a test of skills trying to avoid mashing them. I assume in a couple weeks or so we'll see them in the form of beautiful butterflies. (Though I'm sure someone will correct me...)
Late listed ride to Piermont
Due to a last cancellation by my ride leader for tomorrow, I'm going to ride to Piermont tomorrow a.m. For those who are un-, semi- or flexibly employed (or if you just want a vacation day), join starting at 750 from the BK Bridge or 9 at the GWB for a ride to Piermont. Plan on River Road up and 501 back.

Need cue sheet advice for northern jersey trip
I have to ride up to Andover NJ and need to figure out a good route. Anyone have any experience with routes from GWB to the Andover / Sparta / Newton area ??
Paul Kimmage's Tour Diary
Paul Kimmage is doing a video diary for the online version of one of the Irish Dailies. I have tried to post a link here but may have failed. If it doesn't work I suggest those interested turn on their google machines as I am at the end of a very short technological tether.

Hurry...a few West Point spots still open!
It's but a week away. There's still time to join us! This year West Point will be spectacular, with good friends, good routes, and great food!
A guaranteed smile.
It's a few years old, but still good.

Granny gears
I'm currently riding a bike with a 34/50 in the front and 10 speeds -12-28 in the back. I'm often finding I can't spin enough on big climbs and my cadance drops below 60. Does it make sense to upgrade to 11-32 in the back? Will I feel a difference? Or do I need to improve my muscles and not my gear ratios?
Texas State Senator Wendy Davis is also a Cyclist
You may have heard of Wendy Davis putting an epic speech of a filibuster, last night (06/25/2013) in the Texas State Senate. She spoke for over 10 hours without a break or sitting down and other silly requirements imposed on her. Guess her stamina could be attributed to her running and....CYCLING.
