Thanks to Claire Mordas and Julie Blackburn - Bloodroot Cafe Ride
Thanks for a wonderful ride on Saturday. The route was great, especially when we got to the waterfront, the leaders were fabulous, and the group was fun to ride with. The feminist, vegan Bloodroot Cafe was definitely fun - not our ordinary deli stop for sure!!!
Thank You Claudia for Another Successful Ride and Row
.
Thank you for organizing the fifth R & R to Oyster Bay. thank you for pre-ordering our lunches and arranging for the best weather on a Saturday this year !
Thank you for juggling the 2 separate ride listings, answering emails, waitlists and coordinating additional vessels and coaches. (For leaders who are irked by non-committed sign ups, try adding a time-sensitive fee to the equation.)
Thurs 9 AM Jay's LoHud/West Bank: B ride(good weather fcast as of now)--

Recommended Cycling Destinations Upstate?
I'm looking for a cycling destination somewhere roughly between NY and Ottawa Ontario (give or take a few hours). Does anyone have any suggestions? Ideally, it would be someplace non-cyclists would enjoy as well.
Thanks!
How does a beginner get started?
Route recommendations up to Mohegan Lake?
Right now the plan is just to follow the Google Maps directions. Does that link look like a reasonable route? It's almost all trails: west side bike path -> Putnam Trail -> South County Trail -> North County Trail.
300K Brevet Saturday 6/22
This is the second ride organized by Long Island Randonneurs. Starts and ends in Bethpage, goes out to Orient Point. The lead group in the LIRando 200K last month finished with a 16 MPH average page (including 2 ferry trips!). There is a train, but let me know if you are driving and can provide a lift. Registration closes Tuesday 6/18.

A note to those who signed up for my ride and didn't show up or withdraw....
On behalf of those wait listed who didn't come, may I express my befuddlement at your lack of consideration...one of you a repeat offender.
1 Tube, 2 patches?
Hi folks,
Today I got a flat. The inner tube was previously patched and now I'm wondering is it ok to use another patch on the new puncture to reuse the tube a second time, or am I pushing my luck here?
Thanks.
