Animal encounter
On Saturday, we were riding up the Delaware River from Port Jervis to Calliccon, Via the Pennsylavania River rd.
After crossing the Roebling bridge, and heading north on river road we came a cross a 3-4 ft snake crossing the road, it was nothing unsual until we realized it was a rattlesnake! We got his attention. he certainly had ours and he coiled up and rattled at us, very pissed from a safe distance. Very exciting to see one in the wild.
We continued north all hyped up about the encounter with the rattler when less than a mile later, we rounded a curve to stumble upon a bear laying half on the road chewing a big log, he was just feet away. U-TURN AND SPRINT!

Anybody want a women's L Escape NYC bike jersey
I ordered a Women's Large Escape NYC bike jersey and it is too small :(
The company doesn't take exchanges or refunds.
I would like to sell it for the 80.00 I paid for it.
I am in mid-town, so if you're nearby you wouldn't need to wait for the shipping.

Tandem riding with a blind friend
I've ridden tandem, just a bit, but not with a blind stoker. Met a new friend who's blind and enjoys tandem cycling. I'm looking for a route for the first outing.
I'm wondering about Summer Streets -- what exactly is arranged along the car-free streets? Food, music? Is it too crowded for cycling, are there sudden stops? What about combining a couple of CP loops with Summer Streets?
As another idea, I haven't ridden the circum-Manhattan route recently. Is it mostly complete? Am I likely to run into traffic jams in the on-street portions? (I'm aware you have to cross the island somewhere around Dyckman.)
