Saturday's A-SIG Grad Ride to Beacon is POSTPONED

Submitted by DScher on Fri, 07/19/2013 - 6:09pm

...due to weather and Metro North unavailability.

We will be shifting to a new A20 ride for Sunday that avoids the Hudson Line, for approx. 15 people

An email will be sent to ride participants about the new route with new cue sheet and meeting place.

Hi everyone:

Due to the high heat, we are making some changes to tomorrow's ride.

  1. We will start 1 hour earlier, meeting at Grant's Tomb at 7am
  2. We are modifying the route to shorten it to about 60 miles. We will still get to Nyack, but not as far as Little Tor or Rockland Lake. We'll do Clausland, Tweed, and of course, 9W hills.

If your plans have changed for any reason, please kindly remove yourself from the ride listing. Otherwise, we'll see you at Grant's Tomb tomorrow morning.

Saturday's Harriman Hills B 17 ride moved up one hour to 8am

Submitted by DSabbarese on Fri, 07/19/2013 - 12:27pm

We realize we may have to cxl or re-schedule this ride due to the threat of severe t'showers in the afternoon. By starting one hour earlier we may be able to get the ride in. Nobody wants to be on the top of Perkins Memorial Drive during a T'shower. Plus, there may be MNRR issues, also. Stay tuned.

I'm going on a cycling trip Aug 1 through Aug 5 and looking for someone to chuck some food at my cats every day. Two guys, super mellow, no fuss. I'm willing to pay like $50 or so. Located in Washington Heights/Inwood, close to the GWB. Anyone interested?

Dear fellow Riders & NYCC Members:

I have just become a member of NYCC after registering for the first time to participate in the ENY 2013 (looking forward!). I have been cycling for three years and I love it! Especially the various century rides I have been participating in. I am looking forward to making friends here and to meeting riders to hit the road with on occasion.
