Cancelled for 8/8/13 due to wet roads in Central Park.

I'm considering a trip to Vietnam and everyone under the sun seems to offer them (REI, VBT, Ciclismo, Experience Plus, etc.).  Any recommendations or suggestions?

I'm looking for an efficient route from Orangeburg to Nyack, taking in Bradley and Tweed but haven't been able to unearth one in the ride library -- all suggestions gratefully accepted!

I went for a spin yesterday after work and noticed that the north-bound shoulder on Hudson Terrace had been widened.  I didn’t notice anything different on Sunday when I rode the same route.  The shoulder on the south-bound side looks like it had been redone as well, though I don’t know for sure since I took Jones Road back home.  

Hi all, I have an event on Saturday at a vineyard in Peconic. Thought it would be nice to ride out there and try a little bike camping. Problem is, I'm striking out on camp grounds. Me and google couldn't find anything east of Indian Island (Riverhead) except for the Eastern Long Island Kampground, which got terrible reviews. (Plus I don't like to support institutions that abuse the letter "K.")

Any suggestions? Something in the Mattituck/Cutchogue/Southold area would be ideal.

I had a spoke break like this today on the rear 32 spoke Mavic open pro wheel and had to decide to rebuild or replace the spoke.  I replaced the spoke trued the wheel and checked to make sure the spoke tension of each spoke was in +/- 15% of the average for the drive and non-drive side.  The spoke tension was in range and since the wheel only had 14,449 miles I attributed the break to a manufacturing defect.  

Should another spoke break on that wheel I will rebuild.

This ride has some good scenery and some quiet country roads as well. We'll pass vineyards and ride through a rare maritime forest. Lots of long stretches with no turns on this ride make it excellent for a rotating paceline. Bring lunch or buy it in Riverhead and take it with you to our beach-side picnic stop. This is an excellent opportunity for fast B riders with paceline skills to move to A-ride. There are no major climbs, this ride is more endurance and pleasant scenery with some mild rolling terrain in the Pine Barrens.

Along our route is a quick stop at a unique roadside feature: the Grumman memorial at the site of Grumman's  Calverton facility, where there is an A-6 and an F-14 on display.
