which witch 'wich? I ask you.
dear gourmands, gearheads and galvants,
one of my dear friends is coming to visit me at the end of September. he's never ridden on the East Coast before and i get to plan three days of riding. which leads to the perplexing question...
if you only had 3 days of riding to show off the boulevards and bistros of our area, what would be your dream destinations?

Food Recommendations in Ellenville
I might (or might not) ride through there this weekend. I looked on the board but couldn't find any obvious discussion on where to eat in Ellenville that's cyclist friendly.
What are your recommendations?
Thanks in advance

City Candidates’ Positions on Cycling
As September 10 is both the NYC electoral primary, as well as the upcoming membership meeting where candidates’ positions on cycling will be discussed, now would be the time for NYCCers to inform themselves of their respective candidates’ positions.
Riding Away From a Bar Crawl With Citi Bikes
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/22/fashion/riding-away-from-a-bar-crawl-w...
"Citi Bike, the city’s newest form of public transportation, is colliding with one of the city’s favorite pastimes: bar hopping. While ridership peaks during the day (for commuting to work, running errands and sightseeing), some New Yorkers are beginning to see it as a convenient way to explore the city’s night life, despite the obvious pitfalls of getting behind those handlebars after a drink or two."
A minor fall did unlucky major damage
.
this is a carry over post from the other thread.
Now that CF frames have been mass produced for over a decade, what are some of the other multi-bike owners' experience with minor crashes, falls and dings, travel handlers' special care/ carelessness, or even major crashes (crash and trash?).
Are CF bikes still fragile compared to Al and steel ? Is the fear for carbon still justified ? Is it really compliant yet stiff after a long day in the saddle ?
Any catastrophic CF fork/ handle bar or frame failures out there for our type of usage?
I welcome any feedback on the subject—
