GPX File for The Bear via Saddle River/Spook Rock?
Can someone post a link to this route? I can't seem to find it on Ride w/GPS. There seem to be many routes, but not the one I'm looking for.
Thanks!
A special reward for posting a ride this weekend
The prize: Good karma.
There's just one ride listed at the B-level on either Saturday or Sunday. I know it's SIG/STS season and many people are busy; if you're not one of the many in those groups there's an opportunity for you. The weather will be fairly pleasant... can I help you schedule some more rides? Email me at [email protected] - I'd love to help you pick a great route!

Will the weather EVER change?
Lockable floor pump?
I'm going to keep a beater bike in the basement of my building, and rather than bring a bike pump with me each time I go down there I'd like to just leave one there. However, I am quite certain that anything I leave there will grow feet quickly enough.
Can anyone recommend a relatively cheap (say, less than $40) floor pump which can be locked easily enough with a cable lock? Basically I'll just lock the pump to my bike - I'm looking to make it inconvenient enough to steal that people will hopefully leave it alone.
Thanks,
John F
Do you know...
... who's in your club?
Every once in a while, Richard Rosenthal posts a notice about the accomplishments of some of our members. We've several writers who have done work for the Grey Lady, postal service workers, lawyers (even partners at major firms), teachers, photographers, civil servants (the ones who do great work, and receive no credit), doctors (heck, we even have a medical director at a major NYC hospital), gifted chefs, event coordinators (for BIG events, like the US Open), artists, accomplished musicians, Googlers (or whatever they're called), at least one X-Games gold medalist, even humble, or not so humble, retailers, and others I'm too forgetful to mention. And these are only the ones I've ridden with!
BALD EAGLE on River Road !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Riding back from the Market on Monday(playing hookey from work sort of)saw a nesting bald eagle a couple of miles south of the end of the descent from the police station. Maybe 1 1/2- or so; on the river side of the road-someone was there photographic it-which is how I caught sight. Saw the similar last year so must be a regular. Not something you get to see very frequently so-maybe you might take river road with the hope of seeing it.
Luminescent Bicycles
There was an article in the 4/12/14 New York Times about luminescent bikes being sold by Pure Fix Cycles, which has some outlets in New York City. I tried to paste the link to the article, but the message board wouldn't let me.

video - Lance Armstrong humbly shows how to replace a tube
From Outside Magazine
Lance in bike shop with cap and apron plus bike stand. 2 minute plus video. Belittles his 7 time accomplishment of a certain bike race. Doesn't believe in valve caps(?) Quite straightforward and instructive. Enjoy, * Alfredo *
