River Rd Pesticide Spraying
Two days in a row on training rides I had encountered areas of River Rd that were officially closed due to pesticide spraying. Yesterday it was at the bottom of Alpine/Top of Boat Basin hill and this morning it was at the top of Dyckman. So just a heads up for anyone who is planning to ride that today.
Cooking oil on W 181st near GW Bridge
I am trying to connect with bikers who have fallen on the cooking oil on West 181st Street to include in our law suit for money damages against the restaurants etc. Please contact me ASAP at [email protected]. Or call 212-953-6060. Thanks.

With apologies to Ms. Austen…
See if you can determine which is which.

Any exercise is better than no exercise. However, to really improve your fitness level, you have to exercise intensely. If you do not feel burning in your muscles and shortness of breath at least two or three times a week when you exercise, you are not getting a strong enough stimulus to make yourself significantly faster, stronger and have greater endurance.

Visiting from London - local knowledge needed!!
Hi there,
I'm visiting NYC and the Hamptons (Southampton/Bridgehampton area) for a couple of weeks from 16th July and I would like to keep my training up. Looking for recommendations for:
- Where I can rent a good quality road bike in the Hamptons
- Whether there are any organised ride outs I can join in the Hamptons
- Where I can do a decent spin class in NYC without having to join a club
Thank you,
Vicki
Today's Tour de France (Spoiler)
Chris Froome crashed out of the Tour. After yesterdays crash that left him injured, he crashed twice more today on the way to todays pave sections. He injured himself again and abandoned.
Last nights' club meeting
Good program... and I liked the new venue... good food, more on-tap choices, a pleasant change of pace from Annie Moore's... it had a nice, intimate feel, very conducive to pre-program socializing... well done Eden!
Roll, Liggett, and Sherwen -- time for these "dopers" to be retired
Having watched the Tour de France for over 10 years, I am finding it especially difficult this year to endure the commentary of Bob, Phil, and Paul. Besides being sick of their now stale and repetitive patter, it's hard to move on from the doping era when three of the key Lance apologists are on the air.
Bob -- does "dope" (now the green kind)
Paul -- knew about the "dope"
Phil -- is a "dope"
