My friend had a one bike accident on 9W in Alpine aournd 10am yesterday morning. Someone called an ambulance but he does not have any information about the fall. If anyone saw the accident or heard about it please let me know as he would like to know what happened. He was riding and the next thing he knew he was in an ambulance. He has a lot of road rash and a small fracture but should be ok soon. Thanks, Nancy [email protected]

New bike shop in Fort Lee

Submitted by velofellow on Sun, 06/29/2014 - 1:47pm

Appropiriately named "Fort Lee Bicycle Shop".  It's at 2000 Bigler St., which is a tiny street sandwiched in between Central Road (Santorini Restaurant) and Hudson Terrace.  They're brand new, so they don't have much stock yet.  As of now, they carry Jamis bikes and had some kiddy bikes and "recreational" bikes on display.  Maybe they're trying to become the "anti-Strictly Bicycles".  The couple of guys working there seemed nice.

Riders in Riverdale?

Submitted by DWest on Sat, 06/28/2014 - 7:41pm

Hi - I'm a teacher off for the summer and am looking for someone to ride with around Riverdale and northwards. I like hills but need to ride more. =)

Congratulations and Thanks to SIGGIES who lead rided.

Colin Taber and Katherine Green, who were B16 SIGGIES in the Cheetah group this spring, have each led rides this year. Colin's first was a few weeks ago and today he co-lead my ride to Nyack. Katherine, assisted by Mike Bernstein, led a second group to Nyack today as well. Today's route, River Road (a/k/a Hudson River Drive), Bike Path, Western  Highway, Sickletown/Strawtown, Crusher, to Upper Nyack and back home through Piermont and 340/501 was hard work.

We ask our SIGGIES to get out and lead ride.Katherine and Colin stepped up and because of them, more people were able to get on a ride today. This is what our club is all about: rides and more rides.

Thank you again Katherine and Colin.

Pain bottom of foot

Submitted by SYoung on Sat, 06/28/2014 - 2:31pm

After riding for a few hours - I have pain/pressure on the bottom of my foot - right underneath cleat.  Then my toes start going a bit numb/cramp (and why do I love riding?!). It is only on my right foot (more dominant) and they are SPD clips/Sidi shoes.

Bike store- Delacey (spelling) at Sids who I trust -  recommended changing pedals to "road"pedals/clips - which have a bigger clip area. First she said trying an innersiole (like Dr. Scholls)

Anyone have experience like this? Recommendations

Thanks-
Stacy

Looking for roads to ride around Port Jervis, NY

Submitted by cjones on Fri, 06/27/2014 - 10:51am

Any suggestions on road cycling routes in or around Port Jervis/Milford/Middletown area?

I'll be staying around Port Jervis so rides around there would be great but I'll take anything in the general area!

If not, any suggestions where I could find this info would be great.

Thanks in advance,  Clark
