Minor CP shouting match. The trigger was a new one on me
On Saturday morning, I was riding with some friends to get to the start of the Summer Streets route on east 72nd. (The 3 of us in my family weren't actually staying on the route very long; we used it to get even with the QBB entrance.)
Coming from the west side as we were, I figured we'd use the counterflow segment of the Terrace Drive to go west-to-east, and avoid the park lower loop.
Storm King Highway
Is this road generally safe for solo rides? Just wondering/planning.

Olana openings
Several people have withdrawn from tomorrow's ride because their Saturday ride left them exhausted. As of this writing, there are 4 openings for tomorrow's ride to Olana . It's a great route lots of unbroken cycling with a stop in historic Red Hook and then on to Olana where we will have a group tour of the house and gallery after lunch.
On the way back we ride through the Vanderbilt estate.
Golden Apple- Sunday, August 31
Westchester Cycle Club's Golden Apple is August 31, out of Golden's Bridge, NY.
This is a don't miss ride- Metro North is waiving bike limitations for the day, and WCC is providing bag check for train riders only.
As with Escape New York, the Golden Apple is completely staffed with volunteers who take great pride in creating a fun and safe day. Come enjoy the beautiful scenery of Westchester County, great food and support, and a cookie bake-off (vote for your favorite homemade cookies at the rest stops).
Rockland lake ride on Saturday
For some reason, even though I am a member and have logged on to the website, I can't seem to be able to click on the upcoming rides and register, or see whether they are leaving from.
Would someone be able to let me know where the rockland lake ride (led by Bob Ross and Betsy Hafkin) is leaving from?
Thank you. I really appreciate it.
Two routes to proofread
I always like fresh eyes on things, so, if anyone can check these out, I'd be extremely grateful! :)
Kudos to "Joan" for hanging in. (If you can't beat 'em, shame 'em.)
A resident of Upper Manhattan who said she was almost hit, and was then harassed, by NYPD officers as she rode her bike has given up on her complaint to the Civilian Complaint Review Board, which made no progress on the case for close to a year after the incident.

Shawshank's link to cycling...
... sure it’s a stretch…
But maybe Warden Samuel Norton (or at least Bob Gunton who portrayed him) ain’t such a bad guy after all…
