SIG Cue Sheets
I was looking through the ride library and notice that the A and A-Classic cue sheets have not been updated since 2012. Any chance of 2013 and 2014 being added? I think they were some great rides.

Seven Axiom Circa 2002 Replacement Fork Suggestions:
My Wound Up fork carbon seems to be delaminating on one side and so I am replacing it..
The one I have is a Threaded model, but this may be a good time to change to threadless.
Any suggestions for a nice fork that will NOT break the bank as I bought the bike used 4 years ago.

In today's NYT
Brilliant!
I believe we need the state legislature to put this into effect… a body that could (and perhaps should) be referred to as a Confederacy of Dunces (apologies to Messrs. Swift and Toole)… which means it will be a challenge, to say the least, but a worthwhile challenge.
Lovely WSJ article relating a slice of Robin Williams' love of bikes and cycling
By the redoubtable Jason Gay:
The kicker: "I asked Robin Williams why he loved riding a bicycle so much. I'll always remember his answer, because it was wonderful and true. He said it was the closest you can get to flying."
Morning Route from Manhattan across Queensboro Bridge then South and back to Manhattan: Alternative to Central Park Laps
On a ride earlier this spring down the Putnam Trail from Brewster to NYC, led I believe by Claire Mordas, Jim Zisfein, and Nick Watkins, I met a Club member who had developed a ride which circled into Queens, south to Williamsburg, and then back to Manhattan as an alternative to laps aroiund Central Park. I would like to find out more about this.
If either the woman I spoke with (or anybody else in the Club) has the route for this ride, I would like to find out more about it.
Thanks,
Jim Olson
2-week Bike Ticketing Blitz
New York 1 is reporting that the NYPD is kicking off a two-week ticketing blitz today. Not that anyone was running red lights or anything.
Bike Rental in Bordeaux
I will be spending a few days near St-Emilion in France's Bordeaux region in mid-October and am interested in renting a bicycle to explore the area. Road bike would be best, but hybrid would work too. Any recommendations for bike rental in St-Emilion or Bordeaux?
Replacing a helmet after a crash?
I fell while riding up in Amherst MA last weekend and suffered a concussion (plus other indignities). I'm okay, thank you. Now everyone is telling me that I have to replace my helmet. It's true that the helmet got scratched and has a small dent - like it hit a sharp rock or something.
I certainly appreciate that without the helmet my head would have the scratches and the dent, meanwhile the helmet looks to be in near perfect shape. The foam appears to be completely intact. I'm just not seeing anything that would suggest the helmet is compromised. Also, it's a fairly new helmet.
I emailed Giro (maker of the helmet) and they say that I must get a new one. But they are hardly impartial, they make money selling helmets.
No sign of a police "crackdown" on cyclists in the Park
I have been participating in an early morning group that meets for laps in Central Park. There has been a police presence in the Park throughout the season. This presence has not been a negative by any means. There has been speculation about a police crackdown on cyclists in the Park. I was out this morning at 5:45 AM and rode in a group until about 7:00 AM. The police presence was as it has been all season long – nothing more, nothing less. There was no “crackdown” on cyclists.
Bike Fit
A friend of mine is having knee issues when riding. He has never had a professional bike fit and so I suggested that he get a professional fit.
After listening to Paul Levine at a club meeting, I recommended that he contact Paul at Signature. My friend also heard of two others 1. RoadWorx and 2. Mike Sherry from BikeridersNYC.
He lives and rides in Long Island and Sag Harbor. Since he works in the city he doesn't mind having the initial fit in the city, he is concerned about ongoing adjustments if necessary.
Has anyone heard of the bike fitters mentioned. Does anyone have any other recommendations for a fit that addresses.
Thanks,
Brett
