Hello All,

Thank you to all who responded. I especially want to thank Christy Guzzetta who recommended

PETER REID KOSKINEN.  Not only does he fix bikes, but he has a van that can transport 40 or more bikes to an event.

He was more than I asked for, knowledgeable, responsive and a great value.   I can highly recommend him.

The most important position on 2015's NYCC Board of Directors is. . . .

Submitted by CGuzzetta on Tue, 10/14/2014 - 11:35am

Our Club elections are fast approaching.  I can think of no position more important this term than Public Relations Director.

The Club Bylaws define the role of the Public Relations Director as follows;

Paragraph (f). Public Relations Director. The Public Relations Director shallrepresent the Club to the media and other organizations on all issues of public opinion, in order to win and maintain public support of the Club and cyclists in general; advise the Board on the public relations implications of Club policy and program decisions; an develop and distribute informational and promotional materials to the public.

Dear NYCC members,

Today, 10/14 B15 ride in Central Park is cancelled due to wet roads

Submitted by GRoss on Tue, 10/14/2014 - 3:25am

The roads are wet and slick; fog is predicted for 6:00 AM so they won't be dry by then.

9W cleanup rides on Sunday, Oct 19

Submitted by GRoss on Mon, 10/13/2014 - 12:59pm

Several B & C rides are listed for Sunday's cleanup. We need you to sign up ASAP so I know how many refreshments to order. Also, it would be really nice if an A-ride is organized for the cleanup.

For those of you who havn't done this before, it is not onerous or messy. We will have latex gloves for those who don't want to get their hands dirty and the whole job, if enough people show up, takes less than a hour. Then there's plenty of time to enjoy a cool one with friends.

The Club should send our senior Senator some cycling kit. Perhaps he'll wear spandex, perhaps not but at a minimum, Chuck should be wearing a NYCC jacket and be using NYCC water bottles

Controversial planned GWB pedestrian lane attracts critics

Submitted by NWeissman on Sun, 10/12/2014 - 11:53am

FORT LEE — For pedestrians and cyclists crossing the George Washington Bridge, there's good news: Renovations will double their existing pathway. But to some, it's also bad news: Complaints are already pouring in that the changes — costing $70 million — still won't be wide enough to accommodate a continuing boom in such traffic.
