For those who like both long rides and climbing, you have till November 6 to decide whether you want to ride the Etape du Tour on July 19, 2015. You can find information at http://www.letapedutour.com/ET1/us/homepage.html but according to what that website says to secure a place from the USA you must contact French Cycling Holidays (their Website has not been updated and is about the 2014 Etape du Tour).

Last year's pre-marathon ride was really delightful, but I'm surprised there isn't one listed for this year, and it's less than two weeks away.  Will there not be one?

Reminder:

Online voting opens on October 28th, a week from today, and closes on Tuesday, November 11 at noon. Those who choose not to vote online will have the opportunity to vote in-person at the November club meeting, on November 11, from 6:00pm until 8:20pm. 

You may have noticed that the candidate statements promised to be available by last weekend have still not been published.

This mishap was due to miscommunication on my part and is being corrected as quickly as possible.

Under NO circumstances is this a reflection on the board, or any of the candidates for office.

Be advised that there is construction on Saxon Woods Road in White Plains north of Saxon Woods Park. While you can walk around the barricade and resume cycling and ride past the 2nd barricade, the construction equipment has heavily damaged the road. It looks like the road is being rebuilt -- not milled and repaved, torn up and a new roadbed laid. I recommend avoiding the area.

I checked my GPS records. The construction is from just after the intersection of Black Birch Lane to Saxon Wood Park Drive, with broken pavement in many places until Rosedale Avenue. There is another "Road Closed" barricade at Saxon Woods Road and Rosedale; I made the left onto Rosedale Avenue, which wasn't in great shape but better than the construction section of Saxon Woods Road.
