Submitted by HBorgeson on Sat, 11/15/2014 - 5:23pm

Has anyone biked the gravel trail through Nyack Beach State Park/Hook Mountain State Park to Haverstraw lately? I haven't been there in years but am planning to go that way tomorrow . . . unless it's in terrible shape. Any advice appreciated.

Hearing on Bill Potentially Affecting Cycling Computer Use This Thursday

Submitted by Steve Vaccaro on Sat, 11/15/2014 - 5:05pm

The New York City Council Transportation Committee is holding a hearing next Thursday on a bill that has widely been reported as a cellphone-while-biking ban, but could also be interpreted to outlaw use of cycling computers.  The hearing is  entitled: "Oversight - Leading the Way for Bicycling in America: Where is New York City Now and How Can We Improve?"  Here are the details on the hearing.

A verbose thanks to Infinit – from a cyclist who tried it….

Submitted by jpiven on Fri, 11/14/2014 - 2:53pm

I’d just like to thank Infinit for donating some of their stupendous products to our club meeting raffle the other night, and indeed for fueling a thousand cyclists during ENY as well. Their contributions have been entirely magnanimous.

Just so you know, I sought out Infinit because they make great stuff – without the carcinogens, artificial colors & flavors, industrial emulsifiers, detergents, or other toxic flotsam suffusing the swill we often drink on rides. (Yes. That stuff really is in some popular sports drinks. Need I name the specific swill here? Isn’t it enough that they don’t deserve a single … accolade?....)

2015 Board of Directors Election Results

Submitted by nyccadmin on Wed, 11/12/2014 - 11:46pm

Folks

Below is the official 2015 Board of Directors Election results based on the electronic voting. The in-person votes, while tallied onsite, were not provided to me because the Election Director was busy playing barmaid. The actual final vote count may be slightly more than the numbers below, however, none of the outcomes were affected by the in-person votes.

Thank you to the 323 members who voted this year!
