Visiting NYC in June from South Africa

Submitted by [email protected] on Wed, 05/18/2016 - 9:14am

Hi,

I'll be visiting NYC in June from South Africa. I'm in the middle of a training program for one of the longest mountain bike races in the world. I cannot afford to loose 2 weeks of training. :)

I need to ride some 50-60 miles 18th and 50-60 miles 19th of June.

I have 2 problems and would love some suggestion.

1. I do not have a mountain bike there. Is there places to hire some?

2. Where would I do these distances preferably not on busy public roads...

Regards,

Andre

Submitted by kds826 on Tue, 05/17/2016 - 8:57pm

Looking to list an A18/19 Bash Bish ride for Sunday 5/29 but would like an experienced co-leader. This will be my first time leading and riding this route. Very excited as it looks amazing.

Please let me know if you are interested. Thank you!

Cyclocross bike rental

Submitted by MGrinthal on Tue, 05/17/2016 - 8:45pm

Hi all -

Does anyone know of a shop that rents cyclocross bikes?  I'm looking to do the D2R2 ride this summer and my 23c's aren't going to cut it.  I know NYC Velo did at one point, but I'm hoping to find others.

Thanks!

It will definitely be nice to get the people out of the bicycle lanes.

Betsy posted this to the NYCC FB page. I go there just about never. Not that I would have known I had missed it if I had, but, even so, it would have been shattering to miss it. And it will be shattering in the same way if you do. (As you prepare to click on this link, you might want to have a hankie at hand.)

You might want to take a light rain jacket for possible late day showers.

garmin 1000 help

Submitted by droy on Fri, 05/13/2016 - 10:54pm

I've been trying to import the GPS route from a ride in the Ride Library to my new Garmin 1000, but I'm not having any luck.

If anyone can explain the easiest way to do this, I would really appreciate it.  I called Garmin customer support this morning but they weren't all that helpful.

Thank you in advance!
