Shoddy work from the House of ENY

Submitted by RRosenthal on Wed, 05/13/2020 - 2:33pm

I just found an ENY survey on the club FB page. (I suspect there would be a better return if they were sent directly to members. Or were they, in which case one simply wasn't sent to me? But that's not what's shoddy. This is:

"ENY is a celebration of the New York Cycling Club, a fundraiser for local charities."

(I'll go way out on a limb and hazard the guess you can sneak in your other several bikes as well.)

A nice mention of cycling in the Wall Street Journal

OK, first before copying here the piece, I hasten to explain why I would even be reading the WSJ.  Well, the fact is, I would read it for its editorials (know thy enemy) and for its columns (I've read many excellent ones when brought to my attention but the WSJ has a firewall to block non-subscribers and I'm not about to subscribe when that money could be used by, oh, let's just say Bernie, or Sherrod Brown, or E. Warren--who are reviled by the WSJ). That said, I do unfailingly pull it out of the trash room when I find it there, I being surrounded in my building by financial services types.

Open Bathrooms: Update w/ Staten Island, Bergen & Rockland

Submitted by CWaaser on Mon, 05/04/2020 - 3:42pm

New York City has been doing a terrific job keeping parks and public bathrooms open during the COVID-19 crisis. Many bathrooms that are within playgrounds are closed but others are still open. We've compiled a list of public facilities we know to be open at this time. We've found them to be clean and well stocked. Most (at least on the ladies side) have a handicapped stall big enough to bring your bike into.

I assume this includes River Road, Allison, etc.  Confirm with their web site or Alpine Police Station
