3T Ergonova Pro 44 CM

Submitted by JMauro on Wed, 12/08/2010 - 7:41pm

Does anyone have or know someone who has a pair of 3T Ergonova Pro 44 CM bars for sale? I'm keeping an eye on them online, but I'm hoping to get a better price and don't mind if they are used, as long as they are decent condition.

Nice new look

Very welcome changes. Background changed to black on white, and threads staggered properly.

Introducing a teen to the SIG rides

Submitted by David Regen on Wed, 12/08/2010 - 2:29pm

Last summer, my daughter, Avery, participated in a 28-day sailing adventure with Outward Bound and came back with new confidence and courage. She's looking for a new challenge and has expressed a strong interest in learning pace line riding skills. She loves riding her bike to school, to visit friends in Brooklyn and Manhattan, and in Central Park. She turns 17 in May; for Xmas, she will receive a proper road bike with clipless pedals (she already has them on her mountain bike).

It's literally been a few years since I've ridden with the NYCC (I got bitten by the racing bug in 2004; I now race with the SIDS team) but I’m delighted to see how much the club continued to grow, and the NYCC looks like the best possible place to introduce a teenager to wonderful sport.

It will be cold, but I have the day off from work and plan to do an easy, breezy ride to Piermont or Nyack. Looking for company. Plan to leave Engineer's gate (90th and 5th Ave) around 9:30. Please RSVP here or email me. I'm flexible on time and place of departure.

How do we do this? I don't see any link to renewal on the site.

Thanks.

Hey guys,

More info here: http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCProduct.jsp?arc=2003&spid=20909

Send me your email for pics. This bike is almost new. There’s very little wear on the frame or parts. The previous owner only rode it a couple times before donating it. (You’ll believe it when you see it!). I’m posting this bike on here because we don’t get many walk-in customers looking for high-end bikes like this.

Yoga/Pilates for Cyclists

Submitted by galfromdownunder on Mon, 12/06/2010 - 3:15pm

Any yoga newbies in town and open to downdogging on Jan 3, 10 and 17, 2010?

NYCC has asked me to put together an intro Yoga for Cyclists class - like the one I taught on PACTOUR Desert Camp this year - for the yoga-curious, yoga-phobic et al.
Is this you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYDis3MrfmQ

I've been chatting with expert pilates teacher and NYCC member Karin and we thought it would be intriguing to do a back-to-back 90 min sampler - yoga and pilates for cyclists together - perhaps as a three-part series in Jan.

Hats in the winter

Submitted by simono1 on Mon, 12/06/2010 - 2:28pm

Are we allowed to wear hats - like ski hats - on the winter rides? Or do we have to freeze in helmets? Can I wear a woolen helmet - I saw these in Chari & Co and they looked pretty cool.

PS I fractured my skull skiing at Hunter Mountain and got over it. Make it work, people. I thought it was an allergy problem, but it was actually cerebral fluid coming out of my nose. Claritin had little effect. Should have spotted the cuts and brusing all over my face.

The best things about winter cycling

1. Move to a mountain bike with studded tires
2. No rain
3. Riding skills constantly challenged daily by Mother Nature

Shameless Self-Promotion For A Club Member's Radio Appearance

Submitted by MTownsend on Sun, 12/05/2010 - 8:54pm

Who hasn't dreamed of playing in a band at some point in their life? I know I have but thankfully Cliff Andropov & The Red Squares died a quick and painless death.

Tomorrow night (Monday, December 6th) one of your fellow NYCC members and esteemed A-SIG leaders, Ed Oliver, will be my guest on The Rodent Hour.

Ed is a guitarist for the band The Professionals and I'm going to be talking with Ed about his musical influences, their upcoming gig at Hank's Saloon on Friday (12/10) and maybe a little bit about cycling.

You can tune into the show by pointing your web browser to Pratt Radio (http://www.pratt.edu/radio) between 6:00PM - 7:00PM for "A Conversation with An Artist".

If you like you can e-mail the show with questions ([email protected]) or call us directly 718-636-3436.
