Friday early CP Riders

Submitted by bbonwell on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 5:36pm

Hi,

I've seen the Tues/Thurs rides posted, anyone riding Friday morning?  I'm visiting and would like some company for an early am ride in Central Park.  I'm an A/B rider 18+ average that can suck wheel at 20. If we're the same speed, I'll work w/you, if I'm faster I don't mind pulling, if you're faster I'll hang on as long as possible and no hard feelings if I get dropped.   Post back or email me, brent at bonwell dot org.

Thanks in Advance,

Brent

Hello all,

Another NYCCer and I--both of us, alas, unable to leave the city on the morning of the 27th--are looking for a (car, truck, van, etc.) ride up to Great Barrington this Friday afternoon or evening. The only alternate means of transportation seems to be the train to Wassaic followed by a 40 mi. ride; however we expect this will have us riding past dark, which we'd prefer not to do. We are more than happy to pay for the entire cost of gas and treat you to lunch or dinner, too :) ... but want to make sure that we can get up there to enjoy the riding this weekend!

Feel free to get in touch if you're available. Thanks!

Is the website slower? Faster?

Submitted by QuakePhil on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 3:56pm

We've made some sweeping changes to the website configuration.  It may or may not go down again (if it does we will bring it up and continue working on it)

Meanwhile, feedback requested: is the website perceived faster for you?  Slower for you?  Let us know.

Thanks.

Looks like the weather is going to cooperate and it should be an awesome time as usual. Looking forward to seeing you all up north!!

We have received word from Metro North to refrain from bikes on the following trains on July 30th, Saturday due to the Yankee - Oriole make-up game at 7:00 pm at Yankee Stadium:

8844, 8746, 8848, 8748, 8750 & 8852

These are the 3:40 thru 5:40 from Poughkeepsie and the 5:00 thru the 6:00 trains at Croton-Harmon. These are Hudson line trains that arrive at GCT from 5:27 thru 7:21.

Therefore, we will accept no train rides for these trains that day and discourage bikes on these trains on impromtu rides. If you attempt to board these trains with bikes, you might be forbidden by conductor.

May the Yankess prevail!
