Women's Race Clinic and Women's Race Series Info now up on crca.net
CRCA is pleased to introduce several new women’s racing development events to the 2012 calendar. These events include the return of the very successful women’s clinic, two new open racing series, and a separate Women’s Cat 4 field at Bear Mountain. With a total of seven dates on the calendar, and the potential for more to be added as the year progresses, these events present a terrific opportunity for new racers to join the sport.
More information on the June 16th women's clinic can be found here: http://www.crca.net/racing/open-clinics/womens-clinic/
Bike Doctor NYC is the tile sponsor of several of these events. Their sponsorship helps make the Women’s 3/4 and Women’s 4 Series possible.
Kid's Ride Club
Maybe I missed it in the email, but can anyone tell me when the event starts/finishes?
thanks
WUSS spot open
Feeling under the weather and just withdrew from tomorrow's WUSS ride.
I would hate to have the spot go to waste and just wanted to give a heads-up in case anyone was hoping to join.
Great Falls cancelled
due to lack of interest, in large part due to all the saturday rides postponed to Sunday, the Great Falls ride is cancelled. I may re-schedule it later in the season. Contact me if you're interested in such event.
Some info & an upcoming event for new racers
For anyone who is thinking about racing their bike this season, there are a couple of new posts on the CRCA's website that are worth checking out.
One is about local teams that are accepting new riders: http://www.crca.net/2012/02/crca-sub-teams-for-new-racers/
The other has details on a March 17th race clinic in Central Park, sponsored by CRCA and Kissena clubs. The clinic will focus on the many topics of interest and concern to new racers, including: bicycle safety, racing safety, training for racing, nutrition, race strategy and tactics. http://www.crca.net/racing/open-clinics/mens-clinic/
If you've never raced and are curious, this is a great way to ride your first one!
Feel free to email me if you have any questions:
Weather cancellation? Not in Wisconsin.
On a day when the wind huffed and puffed and cancelled our rides, the Times runs this: Indoor riding in Winter? Look for the Die Hards at the end of the vid. Those are the guys to ride with if you find yourself in Wisconsin in January (and then brats and beers after). But the indoor thing looks fun too.
