seeking bike-friendly UK contact for parts order

Submitted by HBorgeson on Sun, 03/06/2022 - 10:02am

Hello there,

My bike fleet includes a 22-year-old Brompton -- which means it long predates the by U.S. Brompton boom. Some replacement parts I'm looking for do not seem to be readily available in the U.S. There is a U.K. dealer who has them but is not authorized by Brompton to ship outside the EU.

B SIG -- Spots are still open

Submitted by [email protected] on Wed, 03/02/2022 - 12:37pm

We still have openings for the B SIG, so if you're still interested, sign up!

And to clarify: In the past, we did not allow recent graduates to sign up as we wanted to reserve as many places as possible for first-timers. In light of the fact that the spring programs were cancelled the past two years, however, we're suspending that rule for 2022.

It's a great program and we'd love to have you!

MWARBHC - Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hill Climb

Yes, I know, I must have a death wish, but a NYCC friend and I just registered for this 7.6-mile insanity.  I won’t disclose his name.  I will leave that to him.  Saturday, August 20, rain date Sunday, August 21, hurricane/tornado date TBD.  I use an Ultegra 6800 34 x 34...a 1:1 ratio.  If I wanted to go negative, as the pitch at the top is 22%, and I am VERY old (will almost be 68 for the event?!)…what might I do?  Can I put some kind of mountain bike giant cassette in the back?  How big a cassette could a long cage derailleur accommodate?
