tuesday hill repeats - game on!
i ran in the park today (72nd to 102 and back to 72) to check out the early morning road conditions of central park. all's good for the most part. the 80s on both the east and west side are a little snowy, wet, etc, but totally rideable.
my running route didn't include harlem hill, but i'm going to keep my fingers crossed for dry conditions there as well. if they are unsafe, we can do laps.
anyhow, i'm dying to be back on my bike. new year's resolution to exercise more? been a sloth? need to get ready for the sig? just want to ride? please join me.
happy new year to all :-)
GWB cleaning question
I went over the GWB yesterday and It was dry which was nice.
However there was so much junk on the pathway.
Ice Salt bags, numerous parts of cars, a FULL car door by the NY end of the cables just sitting there.
Who can we mention that they need to clean this up?
Rob
City streets as of 1/3 8:00 am
Sanitation is cleaning ALL bus stops by pushing the slush snow into the street and when possible empty street side locations as alternate side parking is back in effect.
I road through the city with No issue at all.
Once I hit Queens blvd AFTER the LIE towards Jamaica I was done being dry.
It's like all the snow plowing was saved untll today.
in anycase as the temps drop tonite becareful of black ice
SIG sign-ups
Maybe I'm out of the loop, but does anyone know when/how to sign up for the SIGS? I'm trying to get a few friends to sign up :) The "Register Now" button on the SIG page doesn't seem to take you anywhere useful. I also tried logging in first, and then the "Register Now" button seems to disappear completely?? Any advice would be great.
For sale: Blackburn Trakstand Ultra indoor trainer + CycleOps wheel block -- lightly-used, quiet, pro-grade, $150
Get a head start on your spring season by picking up my lightly used trainer for a nice price!
I upgraded to this trainer a couple of years ago after twisting a cheaper Bell unit. Originally $275, this is a very stable trainer that rests on heavy welded aluminum legs. It runs quietly and stores nearly flat for easy under-bed stowage. Big, grippable nobs make it easy to adjust. Height adjustment allows you to use it in a very low position, with or without a wheel block.
Operating condition is near new. I used this only a handful of times, so less than five hours of use in total. Cosmetic condition is very good, clean, with a few blemishes, from being moved.
custom wool jerseys
OK, I give up! Where on this site do I find info on buying wool jerseys? I would like to get some custom printed wool jerseys for my running/tri club. I Google’d “wool biking jerseys” and got some makers, but how do I know what their quality is versus other makers, etc.

Old Put ride on January 3 off; would be happy for company on a Brooklyn ride instead
I'm actually up in Westchester now, and snow away from the main roads is packed in pretty well and not melting all that readily even given today's 50 degree temperatures. It's unlikely that the trailway will be significantly clear by Monday, so this ride is off. (I've submitted a request to cancel it via the rides system as well.)
As an unlisted ride, anybody want to go ride in Brooklyn on Monday instead? The rough ride plan is a half loop in Prospect Park, down to Coney Island via quiet city streets, a brief stop for pocket food around the aquarium, back north, bonus loops in Prospect Park as time allows, and a late lunch at Mile End in Boerum Hill. http://www.mileendbrooklyn.com/info.html

Has anyone been out in CP today?
