Caution on downhill of Tweed

Submitted by Cyclegalnycc on Tue, 06/28/2011 - 9:38pm

If you plan on climbing Bradley into Tweed, please take heed...right after you crest the top of Tweed and start the downhill, immediately after the second turn (the one that banks right) there is a LOT of gravel and some sharp rocks left over from last week's flooding.  I rode it Monday.  The gravel was dense, and it's okay to ride through, but trying to do anything but go straight is dangerous.  Not sure when/if they will "sweep" it or it'll just naturally get moved by cars.
Also, this is pure hearsay, but River Rd is supposed to be hairy in the usual spots, also from the water runoff last week.

Bike case for the taking

Submitted by TMcCarthy on Tue, 06/28/2011 - 12:50pm

I have a Bike Pro USA bicycle case to give away. It has seen plenty of use hauling bicycles over to Europe and back and still has more life left in it. Come and get it! For a look at what the Bike Pro USA looks like click here. It basically locks the frame to the base and then surrounds the bicycle in a soft case. Very easy to use and reliable.

Email me through the email link to respond.

Rockland Bagels Tor

Submitted by DHudes on Mon, 06/27/2011 - 11:12pm

I know that there are many folks off to the West Point weekend but I'm not.

Join me for a nice ride in Rockland (and Bergen) with lots of hills and tree-lined streets. Rockland Bagels Tor will include some nice roads in Rockland county as well as climbing Little Tor from the north and lunch at Bubbas Bagels in Wesley Hills. Route plans are in my blog
