FOR SALE: Unopened, still packaged, new NYCC Ride Leader's Jersey.  Size L. $75.  Entire proceeds contributed to Ed Fishkin's Kids' Ride Club. And that's why you should want to pay a premium for it. This is especially suitable for a designated ride leader who rides more than once a week, wants to do so in the present club jersey, but does his laundry only once a week. (Insofar as I know, there's no proscription against non-designated ride leaders also wearing it.)

Submitted by HWoods on Sat, 06/25/2011 - 8:05pm

June A.S.S. ride series finishes with a good one. Dang fast, perfect weather, skills all over the place. One group on the train early, second group on schedule with time for burgers and beer, third group on time with deli beers in their shirt pockets. Pix of Storm Kings, Greenwood, Gray, Ashmore. Another chunk of the group pix. Got more? Post them!

Looking to purchase a women's road bike

Submitted by sichi01 on Sat, 06/25/2011 - 4:55pm

Hi everyone,

I would like to purchase a women's road bike. I am a new rider and am seeking a new/used bike that isn't necessarily top of the line, but is more advanced than entry-level. I am 5"3. If anyone has a bike she is willing to part with or know of anyone who is, please let me know.

Thanks,

Stephanie

Can I ride or walk my bike over the Henry Hudson bridge? If so, how can I access the path from both the north and south?  Thanks,

Melanie

Where is the 79 Street Bot Basin Parking Lot

Submitted by susang8756 on Sat, 06/25/2011 - 8:49am

I am a new member. I tried to find the boat basin parking lot for the ride two weeks ago. I am familiar with that area but was unable to locate it. I found the parking lot at 94Street. Can anyone tell me exactly how to get there for future rides. Thanks!

any trick for removing old, stuck brake pads?

Submitted by BG on Fri, 06/24/2011 - 7:11pm

These are DA 9-spd brakes. The pads are many years old. I have no vice to secure the brake shoe. Ideas or is it just brute force and lots of prying?

An early quick ride on Sunday 6/26: Butter and Tea

Submitted by DHudes on Fri, 06/24/2011 - 5:50pm

I welcome those interested in a ride this Sunday who don't have a whole day to ride and would like something different than a solo spin up to Peirmont or doing River Road.  I offer you "Butter and Tea"  a B16 ride through nearby Bergen County to the Butterflake Bake Shop in Teaneck. Outbound is downhill mostly. Return we come back up the Bergen Ridge, hopefully pushing a bit harder fueled by the coffee and sweet pastries we've just eaten.

I expect to return between 10 and 11 AM.
