Looking to purchase a women's road bike
Hi everyone,
I would like to purchase a women's road bike. I am a new rider and am seeking a new/used bike that isn't necessarily top of the line, but is more advanced than entry-level. I am 5"3. If anyone has a bike she is willing to part with or know of anyone who is, please let me know.
Thanks,
Stephanie
Henry Hudson bridge...
Can I ride or walk my bike over the Henry Hudson bridge? If so, how can I access the path from both the north and south? Thanks,
Melanie
Where is the 79 Street Bot Basin Parking Lot
I am a new member. I tried to find the boat basin parking lot for the ride two weeks ago. I am familiar with that area but was unable to locate it. I found the parking lot at 94Street. Can anyone tell me exactly how to get there for future rides. Thanks!
Susan
any trick for removing old, stuck brake pads?
These are DA 9-spd brakes. The pads are many years old. I have no vice to secure the brake shoe. Ideas or is it just brute force and lots of prying?
An early quick ride on Sunday 6/26: Butter and Tea
I welcome those interested in a ride this Sunday who don't have a whole day to ride and would like something different than a solo spin up to Peirmont or doing River Road. I offer you "Butter and Tea" a B16 ride through nearby Bergen County to the Butterflake Bake Shop in Teaneck. Outbound is downhill mostly. Return we come back up the Bergen Ridge, hopefully pushing a bit harder fueled by the coffee and sweet pastries we've just eaten.
I expect to return between 10 and 11 AM.
B17/18 Mamaroneck Ride is "on" Update 5:26 AM
STILL "ON"
See you at the Boat House Parking Lot in about 2 ours.
The weather looks good in the morning, with a possible thunder storm at 3PM. By that time, we plan to be home sipping a beer and watching the storm.
We'll meet at the Boat House parking lot Saturday and leave at 7:30 A.M. (See Ride Listing for details)
Check the Message Board. I will re-post with any changes or re-confirmation by 5:30 A.M.

FS: Camping stuff
Given a recent thread on where to buy camping equipment, I thought I would post some items for sale. At this point in my life I will no longer be camping - all my touring will be with B & B or motel accommodations. I have an excellent sleeping bag (stored properly - loosely bagged), 2 inflatable sleeping pads (one full length, one 3/4), a camping blanket, camping pillow (small), and possibly a few other odds & ends. All items were used on only two short tours and are in excellent condition. I have no idea what they're worth, so if you want them, make me an offer.
World-traveller 2009 Bike Friday Pocket Rocket Pro - $2500 obo
• Built in Eugene, Oregon in a craft/boutique shop
• This bike has more flight (and road) miles than many people as it was designed for those who travel and want to cycle on a high-performance bicycle at their destination while avoiding oversize or bicycle travel fees. If you travel a fair amount, this bike will eventually pay for itself. It's accompanied me to France, Italy, Hawaii, Arizona, Northern California among many other destinations. Unfortunately, I am not travelling nearly as much as I have in the past, and cannot justify keeping this lovely machine anymore
• Titanium seat mast
• White; claimed weight of less than 20 pounds
• Shimano Ultegra SL 6800 Gruppo with 172.5 mm cranks
Classic 1991 Basso Loto for sale $1200 obo
• As Bobke would say, this bike has "soul." It's been with me since I purchased it new as a graduate student, and has been lovingly ridden over the last two decades, but I am running out of space and reluctantly need to sell. It has signs of use, but is mechanically and structurally in excellent condition.
• Pearl white and blue 55 cm Columbus SLX frame equipped with "Shimagnolo" components
• Hinault-LeMond era Campagnolo Super Record derailleur & crank (172.5 mm), Nuovo Record Brakes/Calipers
• Phil Wood bottom bracket
• Shimano Dura-Ace Headset
• American Classic seatpost
• Cinelli Bar (42cm) and stem
To the girl on the Tri bike...
To the girl on the tri bike who nearly took me and my dog out on the 93rd street path entrance to the Park this morning.
