FS: New resistance band set

Submitted by CWood on Fri, 07/08/2011 - 7:27pm

Need some shoulder work? Me too. That's why I ordered this nice set of resistance bands on Amazon, 2-30 pounds resistance.

Too bad I didn't think about where I'd be able to attach them in my small apartment. Like, nowhere. (Unless I drill a hook into a custom bookcase. Don't think so.) So I'm sticking with low-tech Therabands.

Before I ship these back, if you're in the market, you can have them for what I paid, $28. If interested, please email me within one week.

They can be attached to a door, if you are fortunate enough to have one of those in your dwelling unit.

I allowed slots for 8 riders, since that corresponds to Metro-North per-train limits. (Fudging it a little -- it's really 9 including me.) If you aren't signed up but want to ride, though, you may be able to try your luck tomorrow anyway, SO LONG AS you are willing to possibly cut your version of the ride slightly short so as to catch an earlier train. (You'd skip the planned diversion to Long Pond and proceed directly from the intersection of the Trailway and Croton Falls Road to either Brewster or Croton Falls Metro North.)

Also, it's possible that a preregistered rider may not show, in which case you wouldn't have to use this plan. Be forewarned, though!

Thanks!

Matt

Ride Difficulty Scale

Submitted by DHauss on Fri, 07/08/2011 - 5:13pm

The club uses a scale of 1 to 5 to rate rides.  Is 5 the most difficult?  And how difficult would an A19 Level 4 ride be?

Thanks

Selling my 2010 Specialized Dolce Comp (51CM frame)

Submitted by galgalone on Fri, 07/08/2011 - 10:11am

After about half a season of riding, it has been determined that the frame on my Dolce is too small for my long torso and I got a bigger frame (also upgraded my bike).

This bike was bought at Toga October 2010, I did the B SIG on this bike, and enjoyed every minute of it.  The bike has a total of about 1300 miles on it.

This is the highest model for the Dolce series... Women's geometry and Simano 105 shifters.

I upgraded the tires to Continental 4 Season Grand Prix about 300 miles ago.

I have a double wireless Strada Cat Eye installed (I paid 120 bucks for it in March)

I moved my clips to the new bike, so these come with no clips.

The bike is in great shape, it is my baby and I take great care of it.

hi all - this is just to let NYCC women know that we've posted a series of rides geared toward women riders looking to work on their cooperative group riding skills, improve their pace, ride with other women A-Riders, and/or get info about the NYCC's A SIG programs.

Hope to see you out on the upcoming ride - this Sunday, July 10.  The one after that will take place on July 24.  You can check out the ride posting and sign up at http://nycc.org/ride-detail/52111.
