On the fence about doing the Montauk Century? There's still time to register:

You owe it to yourself to check out this all-new ride route for 2012. It's super-scenic, takes the best of the back roads, and bypasses the worst congestion of Montauk Highway.  Start at Hampton Bays, Long Island, or at Penn Station NYC (with 5BBC-provided transportation).  Choice of 65, 100, or 125 mile routes.

ROCCA DI CAMBIO, Italy (VN) — Alongside the influx of wider carbon wheels into the pro peloton has come a distinct trend away from the classic 23c tubular – the tire size preferred by professional teams in just about every normal road stage for decades. It has long been the mainstay, viewed as the best compromise between aerodynamics, grip, rolling resistance and comfort.

Craig's list fraud?

Submitted by Dreibman on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 4:47pm

I posted my bicycle on Craig's list and the one response is from someone who offered to pay more than I was asking and as long as I ship it and pay for shipping he will give me a certified check.  sounds like a fraud.

Best Practice: Leader to Particpant Ratio = 6

Submitted by eRobertS on Mon, 05/14/2012 - 4:41pm

It has been said that I, "...Don't play well with others", So this will probaby rub some members the wrong way.

So, what's the deal with the "Unlimited" category when listing a ride? From a safety standpoint, can a single seasoned ride leader expect to handle more than 7 participants? How about a new SIG graduate?

As a Best Practice consider eliminating the "Unlimited" category and hard code the ride listing to allow a maximum of 6 participants (suggestion) per leader.
