Just a reminder that the Tony Awards ceremony is at the Beacon Theatre on Broadway & 74th this Sunday evening.  A lot of lanes & streets in that area will be closed by early afternoon (or sooner) while they set up TV trucks, red carpets, staging areas, etc.  Both Broadway & Amsterdam, as well as some side streets, will be affected.  This will probably put more traffic onto West End Ave. and Riverside Drive.  Keep this in mind as you return from the Newcomers Ride.

(I, of course, will be in the midst of the scrum in my best ball gown. )

Brooklyn Greenway Initiative is looking for experienced cyclists to volunteer as marshals for the 4th Annual Brooklyn Waterfront Epic Ride on Saturday, July 28, 2012. The full ride is 40 miles, from Newtown Creek to Rockaway Beach. Mandatory marshal training and orientation takes place Tuesday evening, July 10. I have been going to a wonderful bike shop, 718 Cyclery,  in Brooklyn now for a few years and spoke with the owner, Joe, last week about the club.  He already parterns with TA and they have a membership discount of 10% I think up to purchases of $100.  He said that he would like to partner up with NYCC too, but I don't know who to contact and in this regard.

If you can direct me to the right person that would be great...

A friend wants to replace her old auto mini that broke down with another. Any suggestions on where to buy one? Anyone have one in their garage/storage area they might want to sell?

I will suggest to her the usual CL and EB but just hoping there might be one just lyin' around out there!

I've used Continentals for my road bike for years and have no complaints. Both tires are shot.

As one who likes to mix in hard pack, 25 mm have been my choice. I've used 4 Season, 3000 and 4000. In this incarnation I am mtn biking the other 3 seasons. What tire would you recommend for a road bike doing club rides?
