GWB Rules clarification

Submitted by Sir Roger on Mon, 04/01/2013 - 7:47am

I have been off the bike with an injury for a few months so am no longer au fait with the rules as pertaining to the Jersey side approach. Are the NJ PD chappies still having problems deciding how cyclists should make the left or has some standard method been elucidated.

Wheels Stolen | Need New Wheels - Advice?

Submitted by JLin on Sun, 03/31/2013 - 5:28pm

Hi Everyone,

I had my wheels stolen on Saturday (right before the SIG, I was crushed :*-(  ), and now need new tires, wheels, and a cassette. I'm relatively new to the whole bike parts market so if any shopping-savvy members could give me advice about where to go / how to find deals, that'd be great.

Thank you!

Jenny

Changing the Palisades ridgeline view....

Submitted by EJaffe on Sun, 03/31/2013 - 3:47pm

News from the Fort Tryon Trust and the Natural Resources Defense Council about LG's plan to construct a 143 foot high office building across the Hudson in an area previously zoned for a 35 foot cap on height.....dramatically changing the Palisades ridgeline view.

Please patronize the Community Market in Piermont. Here's why....

Submitted by RRosenthal on Sat, 03/30/2013 - 10:56pm

The market is owned by a lovely Korean couple, Sonny and Doug. Their son, Chris, works there. They bought it around five years ago and have worked damn hard these five years. If you don't know it, in warm weather they put out a tray of soft paper towels in ice water for cyclists to cool off by wiping their faces.

...and speaking of wiping, they were all but wiped out by the hurricane. I was there today for the first time since last fall and learned the water devastated the store, reaching thigh high. They, reasonably enough, had no flood insurance. Who would expect the river to come inland and with such ferocity?

Five years of hard work--knocked out. Ruined. Gone.
