2013 Ghost Bike Ride - Sunday April 21

Submitted by Batuwu Griekgriek on Wed, 03/20/2013 - 2:22pm
hello, fellow NYCC riders,

For those interested who have not done this ride before, it is a slow-paced, safety-oriented ride. There is usually some media presence and family and friends of the fallen do show up.  The rides will take place with legs in different boroughs, starting around 1 PM, and converge at the last bike near the Queensboro bridge at 4:30.  The after event is still in the planning stages but it looks to be food and drinks at a nearby LIC area venue.  I encourage all to attend however much of the routes as you can, and show support for the casualties of 2012, and for safer streets going forward.

Hairpin turn on east side access ramp is ice. We had to dismount to get around it. Hopefully it will melt in the next couple of hours.
