Self-test Table Prospect Park version?
new member here, trying to assess if I can join the Prospect Park rides (B16-18) in the mornings.
Can I just time 8 laps on PP and compare to the Central Park table or doing this is comparing apples to oranges. In that case how would be a fair way to self test without going to CP?
Thanks.
Bike shopping- No Test Ride?
Seeking some advice (without a specisic question)...
I'm in the market for a new bike, and have compiled a (rather long) short list of contenders. I just called the only NYC dealer for one the the brands I'm considering, and was told that the shop, in it's 40-some years of business, has never allowed buyers to take bikes for test rides. (Part of this reasoning is understandable; doubting a buyer can really evaluate a bike in under 100 miles.)
But I can't fathom the idea of paying an obscene amount of money (I'm ashamed to even say the cost... It's equivelent to about 70 monthly unlimited MetroPasses) for a bike I haven't even taken around the block.
Why I love the New York Cycle Club
I’ve been reading our message board this past week or so. All the mishegoss about charging for the SIG’s, about rides being cancelled, about company logos on Club jerseys, about ENY, about all kinds of stuff.
GWB Path closed again 2/12
Got several texts this morning from PA Alerts saying the bridge path is closed.
GWB Open again
Got a text this morning (Tuesday 2/11) that the bridge path was open again as of this morning. Of course, it will be closed again by Thursday when the next storm hits.
Big sale on 2013 Bikes
I stopped in at Sid's W. 19th St. store today and discovered they have ALL their 2013 bikes on sale at 30% off. They had to close their east side store so they have a large inventory in their west side store and they want to clear it out. If you've been hankering for a new bike, you might want to check it out.

Physical Therapy NYC
Hi everyone - Does anyone know of a great Physical Therapist in NYC around Grand Central or Penn Station? I am recovering from a pelvic break with some lower back soreness and am not clicking with who I have now. I am looking for a group or person who will spend solo time with me for the hour that I book and not work with 3 people at one time.
Of course my goal would be to get back to full health, physical fitness and on the bike asap.
Any advice or referrals would be appreciated. Thank you
Going through airport security with metal
