Calling all 2011, 2012 and 2013 A-SIG grads!!

Submitted by GeorgeArcarola on Thu, 02/06/2014 - 6:56pm

Calling all 2011, 2012 and 2013 A-SIG grads!! And ANY and ALL other SIG grads too!

In another thread, Brian Van Nieuwenhoven posted that he was, "hoping to raise the post-SIG participation rate of the SIG graduates this year". Meaning that he'd like to get more of the SIG graduates (at all levels, I'm assuming) to lead rides after the completion of the SIG.

I'm a numbers guy, I like when data is driven by numbers, I tend to collect numbers, and from time to time, I share them- like now. The following are the number of grads of the A-SIG (known as the A-19 SIG prior to 2013), for each of the past three years, along with the number, and percentage, of them that led a post-SIG ride (or rides):

Submitted by mv on Thu, 02/06/2014 - 12:08pm

Hey guys, just a heads up that 2014 CRCA Membership is now open for registration via this link:
http://www.crca.net/membership/join/

For anyone interested in trying racing CRCA is a great way to do so - the club offers free coaching sessions throughout the spring and summer that are worth the cost of membership alone.

Membership also gets you access to CRCA's 12 race club series in Central Park, schedule here:
http://www.crca.net/racing/2014-race-schedule/

For 2014 the Club is also adding a Women's Development Series comprised of seven different races aimed at less experienced women racers. All CRCA members receive a discount on registration for these races.

GWB South Path to remain open for next few years

Submitted by NWeissman on Wed, 02/05/2014 - 7:03am

From Port Authority's 2014 Capital Plan, suspender cables on GWB North Path will be replaced first.  Meaning cyclists will continue to use the South Path for the next few years.  More to come on this, but this is what's known from what PANYNJ has publicly released.  Thanks to Brian V. for the heads up.

Excellent cycling jacket for March/April and Oct/Nov rides

Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 02/04/2014 - 6:15pm

I have been testing three new jackets for over a year and have found an excellent jacket made of highly technical material for those March/April rides where temperatures vary by up to 20 degrees during the ride.

Submitted by GeorgeArcarola on Tue, 02/04/2014 - 1:10pm

The WUSS series is back on the ride listings... for all those that had signed up already, you are once again listed as participants for this Saturday.

For those that posted on the message board, the Facebook page, and the several dozen members who emailed us directly, Harry and I, along with the rest of the WUSS leaders are very grateful for your concern and support.

Finally, a MAJOR thank you to club president Neile Weissman for his calm and level-headed influence in this matter.

Now all we need is decent weather... anyone have any influence with Horae or Boreas?
