Well done, Cyclo Femme leaders
Here's a toast to Carol Waaser, Annaline Dinkelmann, & Sosi Ermarkaryan for leading a lovely Mothers Day all-women's ride to State Line Park in New Jersey. Excellent instruction on fine points of dealing with traffic etc, beautiful day, excellent bunch of 14? 16? obedient club members = a model NYCC ride.
Long Island Railroad Bicycle Policy, 2014 (New and Improved)
People,
LIRR Bicycle Policy changes actually went into effect in February, but didn't make it to the website until last week.
These are real improvements that opens up Eastern Nassau and all of Suffolk to individual cyclists, leaders and co-listings with local clubs like LI Randonneurs.
Bike wash - Manhattan
Does anyone know of any self-service carwashes in manhatten that I could wash my bike? My bath is too small and no options to do it outside on the sidewalk.
Just want kt make it easy for myself for a wash.
Thanks.

A-SIG #11 Croton Dam/Armonk/Pleasantville postponed
A-STS $11 Officially Canceled
Damn! This is a great route and it annoys the heck out of me to put up a cancelation. But I've already sent notices to all the listed participants for the ride as of mid-afternoon and thought I'd better put up something here for any potential late comers. Simply put, the weather forecast for tomorrow is too capricious - IMHO - for me to take a large group on 1.5 hour train rides each way. The morning is likely to be misty and soupy, if not rainy. The late morning and early afternoon might end up working out to be warm, muggy and dry. But there is a definite chance of some T-Storms out there for the mid to latter part of the day. Which means potentially 3 hours of train rides for all of 50-60 miles of good riding at best. Not a great risk/reward balance in my opinion.
A-SIG Classic Ride #11 to Cold Spring POSTPONED
