The All-Powerful Bike Lobby Surrenders??

Very funny bit in a potentially not-so-funny article about someone replacing the American flags on the Brooklyn Bridge with bleeched out flags: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/23/nyregion/white-flags-mysteriously-appear-atop-the-brooklyn-bridge.html?ref=nyregion&_r=0.

Bike rental recommendations in Vegas

Submitted by stacieu1 on Wed, 07/23/2014 - 11:36am

Has anyone ever rented a bike in Vegas?  I'm staying at the Mirage and would love a good recommendation for a good weekly rental.  Is it even recommended to bike in Vegas in August?  I hear it's HOT HOT HOT this time of year.

Late July & Early August - Post your B17 and B18 rides!

Submitted by BVan Nieuwenhoven on Tue, 07/22/2014 - 7:06pm

If you don't post rides...

There won't be any rides!

Our club activities are part of a shared mission... and now is the time for riders to share a little more! We have some gaps in the schedule and I'd like to fill 'em. There are plenty of B15 and B16 postings but few B17/B18 lately.

Do you care about the club? Do you ride at a B17 or B18 pace? Are you willing to commit to a weekend afternoon in the near future to do a ride that you would probably like to do anyway? Well then step right up!

Tonight 7/22 at 8pm on ESPN: "Slaying the Badger," a superb documentary on the LeMond-Hinault conflict, based on the book by Richard Moore. I saw it in the Tribeca Film Festival in April. Here's a link: http://espn.go.com/30for30/film?page=slayingthebadger

Cunningham Park question

Submitted by RChiu on Tue, 07/22/2014 - 6:17pm

Went mountain biking in Cunningham Park onSaturday.  Does anyone know where the pump track is located?  It's very lush in there and I couldn't see it, not knowing where to look.  Thanks!

Good news/bad news

Submitted by CWaaser on Tue, 07/22/2014 - 2:35pm

The good news is, Ft. Washington is now repaved from 162nd to 165th.  The bad news is, it's not yet repaved on the hill from 165th to 167th.

The other good news is, they're repaving sections of Riverside Dr. The bad news is, it's now milled from 96th St. to about 102nd.

Be careful out there!
