Hopefully this is the last winter storm. We've been hibernating long enough already.
Ride safe on Saturday if you venture out there.

With Fatbikes becoming more popular and affordable, how 'bout starting a F-SIG?

Crowdsourcing Request: Help ensure accurate maps of ride start locations

Submitted by nyccadmin on Wed, 03/18/2015 - 4:58pm

Hey folks,

We're in the process of updating the Ride Start locations to include links to Google Maps pointing to the exact spot (or as close to it as reasonably possible) where the riders meet. I think we've got most of them accurately listed but I haven't been to some of the start locations so I'm not 100% sure I have them all correct. If you are familiar with some of these locations, it would be helpful if you could click on the location link and confirm that the map points to the correct location. If it doesn't please respond to this post with the name of the start location you are correcting and a link to a more accurate google map. If a start location isn't clickable then we do not know the start location so please provide that as well.

go to: didierdumas.com for menus, map/directions etc.  They also have soup, quiches, crepes, etc & it is all highly recommended. There is a bike rack and there will be outdoor tables.

"The Col Collective" is self-described as "a new online resource dedicated to providing cyclists with the inspiration, education and support needed to reach the summit of the greatest mountain passes in the world." It is both a website and a YouTube channel. It's almost like TheSufferFest (which is one of several major corporate sponsors) without the suffering, and with *much* better scenery. The videos I've seen (all in HD) are beautiful, inspiring and just plain awesome.

Important Community Board #12 Meeting on the Highbridge

Submitted by Cyclegalnycc on Tue, 03/17/2015 - 6:05pm

When the Highbridge opens this summer, there will be a big increase in people walking and bicycling in the community. The streets need to be built to accommodate all the kids, seniors, and families who will be using this amazing new park connecting Upper Manhattan and the Bronx!

On Tuesday, March 24th, Community Board 12 will be voting on a proposal to implement pedestrian and cycling safety improvements near the Highbridge.
