Last Minute Sunday B15ish New Jersey Scouting Ride
Hi folks, I'm planning on a scouting ride this Sunday, if anyone feels like joining.
Ride is relatively short and flat, 43 miles and 1000 ft of elevation. There will probably be some wind. Pace will be somewhere in the 15-16 range.

Meet at 7:45 AM at the corner of 7th Avenue and 31st (https://goo.gl/maps/i9fSP). Taking the 8:15 Trenton train to Princeton Junction. No train pass necessary. Tie-down or bungee is required.
Speed's effect on one's "cone of vision"
Driving speed affects the driver’s “cone of vision.” You can see a lot more detail at (15): people on the sidewalk, a bicyclist in the periphery, or the ‘open’ sign on a storefront.

A full report on my first lap of the year
Time: April 2, 6:20PM
Place: Central Park
West 78th. Four people are standing in the middle of the road. Standing. In the middle. In front of them, with his back to bicycle traffic is a man. Standing. In the middle. He has a camera. He is posing his subjects. He is framing them very carefully. All the while standing in the middle of the road. With his back to oncoming traffic.
Best way to get from Beacon to Peekskill?
How is 9D coming south from Beacon into Cold Spring? I've driven it once or twice, and I don't remember great shoulders, and perhaps a scary tunnel through Breakneck Ridge?
South to Garrison from there looks fine, and then I'd probably use 403/Cat Rock Road to get up to Route 9.
Alternately, would it be better from Beacon to go northeast into Fishkill, and pick up Route 9 southbound there? I notice that this is the official NYS bicycle route 9 routing in that part of Putnam.
Thanks!
