Submitted by Smgolub on Thu, 03/26/2015 - 5:15pm

I'm taking Brian's suggestion and doing an earlier ride (Northvale) on Sunday.  Any B-STS participant who wants to join me please send me email so we can arrange details.

R-STS #4 - Jones Beach 100K postponed to Sunday

Submitted by NWeissman on Thu, 03/26/2015 - 4:39pm

People,

Yep, another weather-induced change of plans.

Saturday will be 25º at 8AM in Forest Hills; chilly along the water and a 20% chance of snow-sleet.

Sunday looks all clear with temps going to 40º, so the organizers are taking the bird-in-the-hand.

Sorry folks. I hate to do this to you again, but the weather seems to not want to play ball with us.

Sunday will be a nicer day for our ride.

See you Sunday. Same place same time.

Heart Rate Percentage iOS App

Submitted by johnvic on Wed, 03/25/2015 - 10:18pm

I recently bought a Wahoo heart rate sensor to work with my iPhone. It's working fine but I want to display Max HR % so that I can follow a cycling DVD and adjust my workout intensity. I don't want to program a workout, that's why I have the video.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Best place to sell bike

Submitted by ty111 on Wed, 03/25/2015 - 3:48pm

I have a couple of really nice bikes I want to sell, and I am leery of Craigslist. Other than here, where has anyone had a good experience? eBay? Pro's Closet? LBS?

Thanks.

Winter Duds on Sale

Submitted by CWaaser on Wed, 03/25/2015 - 3:22pm

I was at Sid's Bikes today (19th St. east of 7th Ave.) and noticed they have a deep sale on a lot of winter clothing.  I think arm warmers & knee warmers were up to 75% off.  (Probably other shops are also having sales.)  So all you new cyclists who don't have an adequate supply of winter gear, now's the time to stock up.  You'll still need it for a few more weeks (you didn't really think it was going to warm up this spring, did you?), and then you'll have it in the fall when it starts getting chilly again.

Hi there,

CRCA is once again holding Intro-to-Racing Clinics for Men and Women (separately) for anyone wanting to give bike racing a try on Saturday, April 25th. No previous racing experience necessary. We will also have free information sessions prior to each clinic for you to ask any quesitons you may have and you can attend these whether or not you attend the racing clinic.

For those participating in a SIG, we will also have a second round of Clinics in June!

Details available at:http://www.crca.net/2015-mens-and-womens-race-clinics/

About  three weeks ago I   was  cycling  up    the  Bikeway   (which was    pretty  empty  as it was  one of those  days  when the  wind-chill  factor  was -10 degrees), on a  week-day   mid-morning.
