Anyone know anything about the Wellington Windsor 3.0 ?

Submitted by LGodfrey on Mon, 03/16/2015 - 7:38pm

My nephew is looking to buy a road bike and he sent me a website which is selling 'the Wellington Windsor' for about $379. The website says that it usually goes for about $900.

He says that he wants a carbon fork, no need it be all carbon. I would like to help him find something he will enjoy. Any comments?

Keeping Fingers Warm

Submitted by Smgolub on Mon, 03/16/2015 - 11:48am

I'm wearing full fingered gloves that get wet from sweat.  Then, my fingers get cold.  Any suggestions to keep my fingers warm and dry?

R-STS #2 Ride Report - Golden's Bridge (with a Port Chester BBQ kicker)

Submitted by NWeissman on Sun, 03/15/2015 - 8:38pm

Hooked up with Westchester Cycle Club to do a 30 mile loop up to Purdys. Westchester is hilly and this was as easy it gets. Three of us continued south along back roads through posh homes, horse farms and nature preserves. Finished in Port Chester for some well earned BBQ. 52 miles. 3200' climbing. Hit an early season wall, but some Shot Bloks, a lot of encouragement and the gravitational pull of BBQ got me through.

Incentive Points

Submitted by mikeyb on Sun, 03/15/2015 - 7:32pm

Starting March 15  through March 30 you can turn your Incentive Points into NYCC Swag.   Just click Incentive Program.   On the right side of the page you will see your points for leading rides.  Click on the select gear and follow the form that will allow you to add points for SIG rides, all day events and any Coordinator points.

We tried to ride the Putnam Trail out of Southeast and found it not-rideable thanks to 2 feet of remaining ice/snow, despite regional rain yesterday. (No, we didn't have fatbikes).

We went with a different ride plan to get to White Plains... point of this post, you really should wait for a significant upstate thaw before giving it a try.

Bonus: We went to the BBQ place! But they weren't open for another 30m, and we didn't wait. Cursed BBQ! crying

Sunday STS 19/20 Ride

If you have not already signed up for this ride, which was previously posted for Saturday, please do not. It's already full and there was a glitch in the re-listing. Sorry for any confusion.
